Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 79

"Please, hurry up! I'll go check her condition again."

The doctor said this for Ryan to hear.

The doctor glanced at Dominic and shook his head secretly. He concluded that Dominic didn't care about Penelope at all, so it was no wonder he became her ex-husband.

Dominic glanced at Ryan because he knew about such a private matter as her blood type.

His heart felt sour, but he suppressed it.

"What's your relationship with Penelope?"

"You have no position to ask." Ryan's voice was cold, "You can leave now."

"I'll wait for her to wake up." Dominic sobered up a bit.

Ryan pressed his long finger on his temples, expressing his tiredness, "She won't want to see you when she wakes up."

"After all, I'm her ex-husband, and I am better than you, an outsider."

"Well, that is good to know."

"You are indeed inferior to me."

The two locked their gaze as in a stan-off. Ryan stared intensely without losing the slightest bit of pressure. Dominic was defeated, and he said in a light voice, "I just want her to be okay."

"As long as I am here, she'll be fine." Ryan refused to budge.

—Two Days Later—

As soon as Penelope opened her eyes, she saw Jack standing on the side, his hand in a cast hanging around his neck.

"Thank goodness, you're finally awake!"

Seeing that Penelope was fine, Jack's heart returned to its position.

"Jack, who was the person who saved us?" Penelope slowly sat up, feeling a bit dizzy after moving slightly.

She only remembered that someone, regardless of the danger, carried her out of the car that was about to explode.

The person looked very familiar at first glance.

"Ryan!"

"Aunt Linda's great son. Do you remember?"

It was him!

Penelope hurriedly got up and asked, "Where is he?"

"He left already. He said something came up in the company and asked me to take care of you."

"Someone has been employed to investigate it, and there will be feedback in the next two days."

Penelope nodded, feeling that her eyelids were becoming heavy; she said, "Jack, I want to sleep."

Jack hurriedly asked her to lie back on the bed and carefully tucked the blanket for her, and he remembered that Dominic had been in the hospital.

On second thought, he decided not to mention it. It's better not to mention such an annoying person as much as possible.

After two days of rest, Penelope was almost fully recovered.

When Penelope didn't see Jack, she lifted the blanket and wanted to go downstairs for a walk.

"What do you want to do again?"

Jack was already close to her room, and he saw her, so he questioned her actions.

Penelope pouted and nestled back under the blanket obediently, "Oh my! I'm going to get moldy!"

Jack signaled the caregiver beside him to arrange the dishes from the five-star Savoury Dishes Restaurant and said, "Rest for another two days, and I'll let you go downstairs for a walk."

"Jack, you are so attentive to me, but why are you so cold towards Carla?"

Penelope looked curious.

"What did I do?" Carla suddenly asked as she stood by the door.
