Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 49

Penelope sighed, took out her phone, and called Vincent, who had been back in Dubai for the past few days.

The matter was really strange. Andrew, a well-behaved young master of Harris Corporation in Dubai, came to her branch in Seattle as an ordinary employee. Thinking about it, Penelope felt that something was wrong. She decided to ask her elder brother about Andrew’s situation first.

Vincent picked up the call after it rang for a few seconds.

"Penny, what do you want from me?" On the other end of the phone, Vincent's tone was firm but gentle and doting.

Penelope glanced at the Project Director, who was standing awkwardly on the side, covered her mouth, and whispered, "Brother, that guy, Andrew Harris, is currently in Seattle and even sent his resume to the Diamoson Investment Project Department. Did Harris Corporation go bankrupt?"

Vincent laughed in a low voice. His sister regarded Andrew as a nemesis and hated him so much that she refrained from saying his name or talking about him.

"No, Andrew was sent back to Seattle by Chairman Harris this time, but I don’t know about him coming to Diamoson to look for a job."

"Alright, I'll tell him to get lost."

"Penny, calm down." Vincent advised, "You and I both know Andrew’s strength. He is a true venture capital expert; with him in the Investment Project Department, your profit statement this year will definitely satisfy the shareholders."

After being advised by her big brother, Penelope's voice softened, speaking in a timid tone that only siblings could speak in, "What if he proposes a marriage contract to me?"

"Your identity has never been disclosed to the public. He doesn't know that you are the fourth young lady of the Reed family who is betrothed to him. If you don't mention it, how will he find out?"

Noticing that Penelope's attitude was loosening, Vincent gave her a final kick, "What Diamoson Seattle needs most now is a talent like Andrew. Are you willing to shut out such an outstanding person out of personal hatred?"

Vincent's words successfully convinced Penelope that her current task was to do an excellent job with the Diamoson Corporation in Seattle. Knowing people and making good use of them is what a business person should do.

Very reluctantly, Penelope hung up the call with Vincent. Penelope cleared her throat and said to the Director, who was still waiting to speak, "Uh… That person named Andrew Harris stays."

Upon hearing this, the head of the project department laughed so hard that he could not close his mouth. He flattered Penelope like Carlos and left.

—Early The Next Morning—

As soon as Penelope arrived at the company's entrance, she heard someone talking quietly.

"That man is so handsome!"

"It turns out he is the one who has been sending flowers these past few days!"

"Yeah, I just joined the Investment Project Department today. Hello, boss." Andrew was utterly unaware of Penelope's incoming fury and remained jovial.

Penelope raised her index finger and pointed to her watch. Her voice doubled in volume, "Look, what time is it now? You have still not reported to work; instead, you're blocking your boss downstairs. Do you still want this job?"

Andrew had never seen a beautiful woman speak so loud. Andrew swallowed hard and froze in place.

It seems... This goddess has quite a temper.

On the side, the Director of the Investment Project Department, who was waiting for the elevator, saw that the newcomer he protected was getting into trouble. In order to prevent Andrew from being fired by the boss for no reason, the director quickly threw Andrew's flowers into the trash can and dragged him to the emergency corridor for refuge.

Seeing Andrew being dragged away, Penelope calmly walked towards the elevator.

Other people next to the elevator were also busy running towards the emergency corridor, which made Penelope a bit confused.

What happened to these people?

Everyone was in shock, afraid that their breathing would annoy her. Miss Reed usually had a spring-like smile every morning, and they had never seen her scold someone so loudly for being given flowers early in the morning. She shouldn't be so angry, they thought.
