"Lanny has arranged everything with the hospital in France. You'll be sent abroad in three days," Dominic declared.
Upon hearing this, her eyes shimmered with resistance, her voice quivering with emotion. "Dominic, I don't want to go. I want to stay in Seattle with our child."
Dominic's expression remained stern and unyielding.
Kyla clutched Dominic’s arm tightly, tears flowing uncontrollably down her cheeks. "Even if you disregard our child, consider my sister, Karyl. She lost her life due to your involvement with the Archer family. You can't just cast me aside like this."
"We owe Karyl that much, but you must leave," Dominic interrupted.
Upon hearing his words, Kyla collapsed onto the sofa, utterly defeated.
The room was thick with haze and smog, making it difficult for Dominic to breathe comfortably inside his own home.
Just then, a call came in from Andrew.
"Bro, have you seen the hot search?" Andrew's voice crackled through the phone.
Dominic initially thought of the article defaming Penelope. "It's false; the police have ordered its removal."
"Are we talking about the same thing? Go check it out. Your family's now the center of a social media storm. It's not coming down, so you better have your PR team handle it."
After ending the call, Dominic browsed through the news. As he read further, his face turned ashen, his expression darkened, and a storm brewed in his eyes.
The retaliation from that woman was swift and precise.
Kyla had planted a false story to tarnish her reputation, prompting her immediate counterattack against the Archer family.
Dominic promptly dialed Lanny's number, instructing her to pull down the hot search. However, the response he received was that it couldn't be done.
The head editor of Global Entertainment had declared that the hot search about the Archer family must remain for three days, and no other media dared to intervene.
Upon hearing the news, Dominic’s anger surged so intensely that he shattered several glasses in his fury.
…
"Even if Dominic was the first to cheat, she sent her former sister-in-law to jail and tarnished the Archer family's reputation. That's going too far!" Warren slurred slightly, barely able to keep his eyes open as he argued with Andrew.
"Is that so? If I were his ex-wife, betrayed by my husband, I'd be even more ruthless than she is now!"
Andrew hadn't anticipated that this circle of friends would completely disregard the facts and persist in their conversation.
"Dominic simply made a mistake that countless men make. Why can't a wife forgive him?" Warren asserted, emphasizing his flawed logic even more.
"I'm telling you, if my wife ever did that to me, I'd divorce her on the spot!" Warren stubbornly asserted, firmly holding onto his misguided belief.
On one side, Warren voiced his stance, while on the other, Andrew held firm to his perspective. They appeared like opposing forces of right and wrong. Amidst this charged atmosphere, squarely between them, choosing silence as his refuge, steadily pouring himself drink after drink.
Drinking by himself hastened the intoxication, and before long, Dominic slumped onto the sofa, overwhelmed by the effects.
Warren persisted in his chatter, but Andrew tuned him out, unwilling to engage further with someone so devoid of moral compass. Instead, he stepped out, intending to locate a waiter to help move Dominic
As he scanned the room, his gaze inadvertently landed on a mesmerizing figure at the center of the stage...
