Rebirth In Divorce My New Mr. Perfect (by Summer Knowles) novel Chapter 861

“Steven,” Zachary said calmly, “go back to Scarlett now. Don’t mention what just happened to anyone. And I mean anyone. Forget it, too. As for that man… I’ll look into him. Leave everything to me, alright? Acting on impulse is reckless. If you tip him off before we know the full picture, you’ll ruin everything. You don’t want him to get suspicious, do you?”

Hearing Zachary’s words, Steven slowly calmed down. “Zachary… do you really think you can find him?”

“I can,” Zachary replied without hesitation. “When I say I want to find someone, I never fail. And the fact that he dared come back to East Coast? That just makes it easier. He’s walked right into the trap. Don’t you want to know who’s the mastermind?”

Steven nodded firmly. “I trust you, Zachary.”

“Good. Then act like nothing happened. Eat, drink, have fun—just like before. Leave the rest to me.”

The banquet was going smoothly. As night fell, the weather turned chilly, so everyone moved into the hotel’s grand hall. Sarah had everything arranged in advance—tables covered in food, with a buffet set up for guests to help themselves.

The fans could hardly believe their luck. Sharing a meal with their idols felt like a dream.

Just then, the doors opened—and every spotlight shifted away from the celebrities, turning toward the person who had just walked in. Whispers spread through the crowd. Who could steal the spotlight from this many stars?

Sarah looked up too. She didn’t need to guess.

Even Scarlett grinned beside her. “I know who it is.”

Zachary stepped through the doorway, instantly commanding the room’s attention. The sharp click of his shoes echoed against the marble floor. The crowd fell silent.

Sarah stood close enough to hear the whispers.

“Is that really Mr. Reynolds? I’ve seen him all over the news, but I’ve never seen him in person.”

“Of course it’s him. Someone like that doesn’t just show up anywhere. You think it’s easy to get into the kind of events he attends?”

“Unbelievable… We came here hoping to see some celebrities, but even Zachary Reynolds is here?”

“Look at his eyes. From the second he walked in, he hasn’t looked at anyone but her.”

Sarah looked down at her hand—and finally realized what it was.

Zachary raised an eyebrow. “A gift? For me?”

Sarah hesitated, then extended her hand. “A Christmas apple.”

“Thank you,” he said, taking it from her, his eyes lingering on the fruit.

Sarah wanted to crawl into a hole. On the side of the apple, there was a heart sticker.

Why did Scarlett give her one like that?

She turned to her, but Scarlett just tilted her head toward the nearby table—where apples were piled high like a mountain.

All of them had hearts on them.
