The camera caught Lydia off guard, leaving her at a loss for words.
“Wow, you’re incredible. Out of seven days, you finished the challenge in just three. Can you share with everyone how you managed that?”
The reporter, a young guy, couldn’t hide his excitement. Seeing such a beautiful girl take first place, he was extra friendly, already wondering what kind of lucky guy would end up with someone like her one day.
“It wasn’t that hard. If you stick with it, anyone can do it.”
Monica and Fiona were total newbies, but they made it too, didn’t they?
The reporter had been hanging around the camp these past three days, and all he heard were complaints. Students kept saying the training was impossible, calling it a nightmare, and whoever came up with it must be crazy.
That’s how it is with winners, though. It’s like taking a test. For top students, the questions are a breeze. For everyone else, it feels like climbing a mountain.
“You really are amazing. Can you tell everyone your name so people can get to know you?”
Lydia paused, then simply answered, “Lydia Norwood.”
The reporter froze for a second.
“Lydia? Are you the one who got a perfect score nationwide this year?”
He had reported on the story of the national top scorer, but back then, Lydia never showed her face to the media and no one had a clear photo of her. He never expected the winner of this military training, the pretty girl standing in front of him, was actually her.
It was honestly shocking. Beauty and brains, all in one.
Lydia nodded calmly. “Yeah.”
What was going on with the Gibson family? Wasn’t first place supposed to go to Rosie from the Gibsons?
Grumbling, she pulled out her phone and sent a message.
[What happened? Wasn’t first place at Capital Med School’s training promised to the Gibson family?]
When news broke that Lydia had taken first, almost everyone was stunned.
Especially the head of the Gibson family and Mrs. Gibson. They had been keeping a close eye on Rosie’s progress at school. Their plan was for Rosie to win, get the media coverage, and build her reputation for the future. Everything had been set up. How did someone else end up with the top spot?
“What is going on? I thought you already made arrangements. Who is this Lydia, and how did she take first place from Rosie?”
