Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 1305

Blood Oath was the world’s top assassin organization, with its roots buried deep everywhere. Taking down their headquarters in one go was never going to be easy.

The warship drifted closer to Illusory Island. Connor lifted his binoculars and squinted through thick fog until the tall buildings and patrolling figures on the island came into view. As they drew near the shore, Blood Oath members hiding in the shadows caught on to the intrusion. The sudden crack of a gunshot echoed across the sky. Just like that, chaos exploded.

Connor kept his cool, barking orders to the mercenaries. Their aim was flawless and their teamwork was on point. Together, they pushed through the first wave of enemies. But Blood Oath’s resistance was way fiercer than anyone expected. All at once, the island’s traps sprang to life. Snares, hidden weapons, and all kinds of nasty surprises came at them nonstop...

The next morning, Lydia came downstairs with Juna by her side. Everyone else was already at the breakfast table, but Lucinda still hadn’t shown up.

Kylie glanced at Tina. “Didn’t you call Lucinda?”

Tina nodded. “I called a bunch of times, but she didn’t answer. She must be out cold.”

Cameron thought for a second. “She probably drank too much last night. Let her sleep in. We’ll keep her breakfast warm.”

Tina agreed softly. “Okay.”

Lucinda finally woke up after nine. Sitting up in bed, her head was pounding. It’s all Juna’s fault. She had totally gotten her drunk on purpose last night.

Lucinda felt her blood boil. If they didn’t want her to come, they could’ve just said so instead of making up excuses. Whatever. She didn’t need them. She had her own plans for today anyway.

She forced a smile. “Oh, I guess I drank a little too much last night. No worries. Hope they have fun.”

Meanwhile, Lydia was already sitting down with Boris and the other department heads, going over their plan. Boris had lived through more than his share of storms, but even he was rattled by what he’d learned.

“This is just evil,” he said, voice shaking. “They’re like parasites eating away at our country. We have to wipe them out for good this time.”

Lydia nodded. “Grace was involved in everything, and someone’s trying to help her break out of prison. I think we should let her escape. It’ll help push our plan forward.”
