Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 1002

In a flash, a crowd of men in black suits burst out, batons in hand, surrounding the gambling table on all sides.

Panic broke out among the gamblers.

“What do you mean, cheating? We just made the right call. That’s not cheating!”

“Yeah, we lost so much before. Now we finally win a couple hands, and suddenly we’re cheaters?”

The man who was still down a million or two lost his cool and shouted, “Come on! You rolled five smalls in a row and we didn’t say a word about cheating. Now we get two bigs and all at once we’re the ones cheating? Looks to me like you just can’t stand losing!”

Once he spoke up, everyone else found their voice.

“Exactly! Five smalls in a row! We were about to lose everything, then we finally win a little back and you blame us for cheating. Feels to me like you’re the real cheaters!”

“Yeah, this casino just can’t take a loss. You only want to take our money. What a scam!”

The dealer jabbed an angry finger at Sweet Potato, who was still looking pretty calm.

“It was him! He’s a cheater!”

Everyone’s gaze snapped to Sweet Potato.

He just grinned, a little goofy. “Seriously? I came in here with a thousand bucks, just trying to buy some formula for my kid. If I actually knew how to cheat, would I be struggling to buy milk?”

The crowd nodded. He had a point.

And honestly, Sweet Potato had helped them win some money. Even if he was cheating, they were still on his side.

It was obvious now. This casino just couldn’t accept losing.

“Yeah, exactly! This kid only won two hands, started with a thousand. Cheating? Please. The truth is, you folks just don’t want to pay out!”

“Right! We finally win a little, and suddenly it’s cheating. You just don’t want us to take your money!”

Everyone had been following Sweet Potato’s bets. If the casino called him a cheater, their winnings would mean nothing.

So that was it. They were just trying to frame Sweet Potato.

Even gamblers at the next table stopped what they were doing to look over, straining to see what was going on.

“You can ask around. We’re a legit casino. We never stiff anybody, as long as you win fair and square,” the dealer sneered.

People wanted to push back, but with guns pointed at them, nobody dared make a sound.

The dealer went on, “They’re the cheaters, not you. If you want to get out of here alive, then leave. If not, you can stay.”

It was obvious what he meant. Leave the money, and you get to walk away.

Of course, nobody wanted to go along with that.

Money was life to them.

They finally managed to win a couple rounds, and now they couldn’t take it home? No way.

Lydia gave a short, sharp laugh, her voice cool and clear. “There’s a controller under his side of the table. He uses it to control the dice, make them stop or roll however he wants. If there are more chips on big than on small, he can secretly rig it so the dice show a low number. If there are more chips on small than big, the roll will come up big every time. That’s why you kept betting on big, five times straight, and it always came up small.”
