Before Xavia left, Zivon called out, “…Xavia.”

Staring at his eyes that were darker than the darkest night, Xavia heard him say, “…Take good care of Maison and yourself…”

…She hadn’t heard him speak to her in such a tone for the longest time… The fact that he was using that tone so calmly when he was potentially going to die soon only served to make her even more moved… In the end, she couldn’t help but say, “…I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done…”

Soon enough, blood began flowing out… and any remnants of the drug came flowing out as well! Feeling some of his strength returning to him, Zivon then sharpened his senses… and the second the men came running past, he used the bamboo stick to stab them!

Since they had been running in a line, the first person gave out a yelp of pain before toppling backward, sending the rest of the men falling atop each other!

Now that the men were sitting ducks, Zivon quickly got up and grabbed the hand of the first person… before twisting it hard and flinging the man aside! Following that, he kicked the second person—who was just about to get up again—with extreme precision, sending more people toppling to the ground again!

It was clear that they hadn’t anticipated that Zivon would ambush them instead! Regardless, they were now infuriated by his actions…!

“Quite a strategist you are, Young Master Burton…! I guess we don’t need to hold back, then!”

“Everyone! Attack!” roared the leader as all six of the men revealed their iron rods before charging toward Zivon!

No woman had ever risked her life to save him before…! Now infuriated, Zivon glared at the assailant before sending a powerful kick toward him, instantly causing the man to black out!

The other two men were swiftly dealt with as well, and now that it was safer, Zivon quickly lowered Xavia—who was still in his arms—while growling, “You…! You foolish woman…! Why did you come back…?!”

Why the hell was she risking her life for a big man like him…?! All he wanted was for her and Maison to be safe…!

Despite how harsh his angered tone was, Xavia knew that it was only out of worry. Looking at his charming face that was contorted in fear for her safety, Xavia couldn’t help but force a smile… Finally, he wasn’t looking at her in disgust anymore…

Eventually, she was able to weakly say, “I… got Maison to a car, and I just came back to see how you were faring… I’m… just glad that you’re still fine…”
