Watching as Ian raised a brow, Tiffany took a deep breath and added, “…What I’m saying is that I’ve always been meticulous with my work, to the point where I began doing things without being asked to… Today is a good example of that. I genuinely wasn’t trying to make you mad, so… please don’t let my actions sour your mood any longer…”

…But it wasn’t her work ethic that ticked him off! Pursing his lips, Ian replied, “…You didn’t overstep any boundaries, alright. It’s just-”

Before Ian could complete his sentence, Tiffany’s phone began ringing… and though the screen only lit up for a second, Ian clearly noticed that the caller was, ‘Darling’!

Quickly declining the call, Tiffany replied, “Sorry, please go on…”

However, how could he go on when he now remembered that she had a boyfriend? To think that he had almost told her about his feelings for her…!

Shaking his head, he eventually said, “…Forget about it. Just… You can start working elsewhere starting tomorrow. Here, take this document. Just fill in whatever post you want, and I’ll make sure you get what you want.”

Though Ian was clearly promoting her, the panicking Tiffany couldn’t help but ask, “B-but why? Was my mistake that drastic? I’m so sorry-”

Following a sigh, she picked up and was immediately greeted by a cheery voice exclaiming, “It’s my birthday today, so be sure to be back in time so that we can have fun sooner!”

Rather than a man’s voice, the voice belonged to a woman. After all, ‘Darling’ had simply been her best friend this entire time! She had no real boyfriend!
