...Ian was sharper than he expected. Forcing a smile, Zivon replied, “…As if she could have something like that against me-”
“Don’t even try to deny it. I know you well enough to know that you’d never help a woman like her unless you’re forced to. That aside, are you really sure that you want to proceed with this? Remember, Xavia will be bothered by your actions, regardless of whether Rosa succeeds or fails. Then again, I’m sure you already know this, so with that said…”
Smiling subtly, Zivon replied, “…If others hear this, they may think that we share some extraordinary relationship… Jokes aside, you’re overthinking this. I’m simply doing my teacher a favor, nothing more, nothing less.”
Unable to detect any hesitation in Zivon’s gaze, Ian eventually said, “…That had better be the case. The last thing I want is for you to hurt Xavia again.”
“I won’t hurt her, nor will I let anyone else do so,” replied Zivon, causing the satisfied Ian to nod.
“Well said. Regardless, I have half an hour off after three tomorrow, so tell her to meet me then.”
Though surprised to hear Ian agreeing so easily, Zivon simply nodded before turning to leave…
Following a sigh, Ian was about to head back to work when Tiffany suddenly walked up to him and handed him a document while saying, “Don’t worry, I’ve already found all the relevant information regarding her. Rosa is currently twenty-eight, and as it turns out, she comes from a long line of scientists. Not only is she outstanding in the world of sciences, but she’s also been involved in the world of business from a young age. She hasn’t dated anyone before either, so-”
But… He had to admit that he had been bothered by the thought of her having a boyfriend… What’s more, he still remembered how he had told her to work overtime back when she said that she wanted to go on a date… To be frank, he even found her even more charming and seductive lately…
Then… He really liked her…?! But she was his secretary! One with a boyfriend, no less…! In the end, he continued feeling perplexed about it till it was time for Tiffany to get off work…
It was around then that she realized that he was still looking all gloomy, so after taking a deep breath, she walked up to him and said, “…Again, I apologize for my earlier actions, Sir Ian… If you don’t mind, allow me to share a short story with you…”
