Looking at the woman who was staring at him from atop the stairs, Zivon was left slightly speechless.

The kids themselves were quick to exclaim, “Mommy has forgiven us, Daddy! Go on, sweet talk and apologize to her already so that she’ll forgive you too!”

…If only he could gain her forgiveness that easily… Shaking his head, he was just about to sit in his wheelchair again when he heard her say, “Walk with me.”

This, of course, surprised him. Sure, he had managed to walk up to her back when they were on that boat, but it had only been because of how drastic that situation had been… Still, if she wanted him to show that his condition had improved, so be it.

Thankfully, Xavia didn’t walk too quickly, and Zivon simply followed her slowly from behind. However, since neither of them said a thing, the awkwardness quickly grew to unbearable levels…

Unwilling to keep this up, Zivon took the initiative to say, “…Don’t worry, I’ve told the kids what they needed to hear. They won’t misunderstand the situation any further, and I promise to continue attending any future rehabilitation sessions.”

“Also, the kids should live with me since you’re exhausted enough to have to take care of four kids. Don’t worry, I’m not doing this to ask for forgiveness. I don’t deserve it,” concluded Zivon in a solemn tone.

Squinting slightly, Ian replied, “…This is how you resolve things? By giving up on her?”

Chuckling wryly, Zivon then said, “What else can I do? Pester her with meaningless apologies? Rather than hurt or annoy her even more, I’d rather choose this route instead. I agree that I’ve hurt her, and that I’ve failed to cherish her properly… And with that said, losing her is part of my divine punishment.”

“Plus, since she’s already so disappointed in me, she’ll soon get back on her feet again and start a new life. I’m sure of it. Anyway, if you ever need my help, then feel free to contact me…” concluded Zivon before walking off, leaving Ian speechless…
