Looking at the hopeful children, Xavia couldn’t help but purse her lips. After all, she knew that that was a lie… But she couldn’t risk hurting the children even further…
Since Xavia wasn’t saying anything, Maison was quick to say, “…I’m calling Daddy over to see if you’re telling the truth!”
Upon hearing that, Yulia added, “Same! I’ll give Daddy my favorite lollipops too to help comfort his aching heart!”
…The kids were utterly convinced that she was the villain, huh? That aside… Both children loved Zivon dearly, and Maison even grew up with the man… If he learned the truth, then… Would he still choose to be with him? Damn it… The kids shouldn’t have to make such a difficult choice…
Thankfully, Ian eventually managed to persuade the kids to treat their wounds first. What’s more, he even told them that Zivon would come over soon. However, the kids weren’t convinced, so they made sure to give Zivon a call, just in case…
Barely half an hour later, Zivon arrived in his wheelchair, looking as prestigious as ever…
Looking at his children, he gently asked, “How are your injuries looking…?”
Hopping into his arms, the kids replied, “Don’t worry, they’re not serious! That aside, is it true that you and Mommy are only putting on an act? You’re not really mad at her?”
“…That’s not something to be proud of,” muttered Zivon with a sigh as he scanned the room. Alas, Xavia was nowhere in sight…
Following a slight pause, he was prompted to ask, “…Is she upstairs? Would you mind meeting her together with me…?”
“Of course we won’t mind! Let’s apologize to Mommy together!” exclaimed the children as they began running toward their room.
Zivon himself slowly supported himself to his feet with the aid of a walking cane… but before he could even ascend the first flight of stairs, he suddenly heard her familiar voice say, “I’ll come down, don’t push yourself. Also, we should talk.”
