“Um… I’ve finished my ginger tea… could you brew me more, Hubby…?”
Not thinking much of it, Zivon simply nodded before heading off.
Fiona herself was left irked. Was she trying to show off by calling him ‘Hubby’ in front of her…?! In the end, she couldn’t help but say, “…Why are you making such a prestigious man serve tea for you? Just because you’re now married, that doesn’t mean that you can just order him around!”
“…Come again? It’s only right for a husband to help his wife, especially when she’s feeling unwell. Be sure to look for such qualities in your future man, Miss Squire.”
Clenching her fists, Fiona growled, “I’ve only ever fallen for Zivon! There’ll be no other man!”
Just as Fiona was silently swearing to herself that she would one day have him, Xavia smiled as she said, “Glad to see the other women in the nation feel the same way as I do… It’s nice to know that my Hubby is so accomplished…”
…Somehow, she was the one getting pissed! Not wanting to bother with Xavia anymore, Fiona began roughly feeling around Xavia’s belly while growling, “…Does it hurt here?!”
Clenching her fists in pain, Xavia took a deep breath before replying, “Well, that’s where it hurt earlier, but I’m fine now. Period pains, you know?”
“Zivon, you’re nowhere near comparable to such people. You’re the cream of the crop, and there’s no better man than you in my eyes. That aside, don’t you think I’m an excellent woman as well? I’m a doctor, so I can take care of myself, and I can cook too! You should’ve married someone like me!”
She was clearly going all out now, but Zivon remained calm as he poured the tea into a cup before saying, “I’m already married to Xav, and I intend to only stay with her. Find some other man and stop saying such things.”
Throughout their conversation, Xavia had silently been eavesdropping from the top of the stairs. Though she was pleased with Zivon’s conviction, she simultaneously felt saddened because of it. After all, wouldn’t Fiona be the best wife for him if she were to die…?
Her train of thought was cut short when the corner of her eye noticed something falling from the ceiling…
