Plot Twist: I'm Dating Your Best Friend novel Chapter 40

Chapter 40

How do you know about my father?Cassandra probed.

Simon’s voice was clearly laced with mockery. You’ve been married to my son for so many years. Do you think I know nothing about you?

Her expression turned grave as her hand tightened around the phone. What did you mean just now? What does my father’s hotel have to do with you?

The ownership of your father’s hotel is in my hands now.

What?

The people who set up your father back then gambled their money away over the years. They lost everything and even racked up huge debts. In the end, they sold the hotel to me at a dirt- cheap price.

Cassandra was immediately on high alert.

Ryan had warned her before that these socalled parentsinlaw of hers were anything but

saints. If she went over alone, there was no telling what might happen.

Simon kept convincing her over the phone, saying, Come over, and let’s talk facetoface. I might consider giving the hotel back to you. As long as you agree to divorce my son, everything is negotiable.

At that moment, Cassandra was completely sure that there was definitely a trap waiting for

her in the room next door!

They had planned this perfectly. They called Cameron back to Hannover as a distraction, then

had Simon come to Stokelle. It was the classic baitandswitch.

Cassandra thought for a moment and quickly formed a plan. She let out a small laugh.Alright. Let me get changed, then I’ll go over. Wait for me.

Simon didn’t suspect a thing. Alright. I’ll be waiting.

After ending the call, Cassandra called Daisy. Daisy, I need your help with something.

Daisy listened carefully, then immediately said, That’s it? You just watch. I got this!

Ten minutes later, Cassandra heard the doorbell next door ring. She quickly left her room and peered through the peephole. Outside, a dozen armed policemen were ready to storm in.

The moment the door opened, they all surged forward at once. Don’t move! Police!

Soon enough, Cassandra saw what Simon had prepared for her.

About seven or eight naked men were escorted out by the police. The officers were considerate enough to wrap towels around their waists.

At the same time, other officers kept going in and out, carrying out all sorts of items from the room. There were all sorts of thingslong ones, short ones, and round ones too.

Cassandra didn’t recognize them, but Daisy did at a glance. Holy crap, there are so many cameras! Mics and pinhole recorders too? Those are prolevel stuff!

An officer turned to Daisy. Ms. Graham, thank you for your tip. We didn’t find drugs, but some of these men are confirmed drug addicts. We also confiscated a small amount of sedatives. Thank you for your contribution to the public safety of Stokelle.

Daisy waved her hand. No problem! All is well as long as justice is served.

There were sedatives, a bunch of naked men, and professional filming equipment in that room. If Cassandra had really gone over, she would’ve been drugged, assaulted by those men, and filmed from every possible angle.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Cassandra opened it, and Daisy slipped inside. In a flash, all the blacksuited bodyguards in the living room stood up, tense and ready.

Cassandra sighed. My friend came to see me. Is that a problem?

A guard answered, No, as long as you don’t try to escape, Mrs. Dorsey.
