Half an hour later, a black Rolls–Royce sped over. It made a sharp swerve and came to a
screeching stop at the entrance of Westwood Hotel. A valet walked up to do the usual routine, asking the driver if they needed help parking.
However, Cameron shoved the car door open and ran straight into the hotel without paying him any attention.
“Have you decided?” Ryan asked.
Cassandra nodded. “Yeah. I don’t want to see him”
What was the point of seeing Cameron? It would only lead to another fight, and she could never come clean about the whole thing anyway.
Hearing that, Ryan took off his jacket and draped it over Cassandra’s head. Then, he scooped her up horizontally in his arms.
Cassandra suddenly felt her body lighten as she was completely lifted off the ground. She instinctively grabbed onto his shoulders to steady herself so that she wouldn’t fall.
Ryan bounced her slightly in his arms. “You look like you’d be heavy. Why are you so light?” Then, he carried her out of his office.
In the elevator, they ran right into Cameron, who was rushing around looking for Cassandra. “Ryan?” Cameron was surprised to see him here. ‘You’re staying here too?”
Ryan tilted his head and smiled. “I came with her.”
Cassandra hid inside the jacket, where it was all dark. She was unable to see what was
happening outside at all. But she could clearly feel Ryan press his forehead against hers. They looked like an affectionate couple.
Cameron recollected himself and asked, “What’s wrong with her?”
“She’s shy. She doesn’t want to see anyone.”
“We’re friends. We’re definitely going to see each other in the future. What’s there to be shy about?”
“I guess it’s… inconvenient.” Ryan’s tone was extremely suggestive, almost as if hinting that they had just done something intimate.
Cassandra, unable to stand it, poked him in the waist with her finger.
Ryan hissed softly, then in a half–teasing and half–threatening tone, said, “Don’t provoke me right now. If you keep it up, we’ll just start right here in the elevator.”
“As he spoke, he even pretended to lower her from his arms.
Cassandra was startled and Immediately froze. She held onto him tightly, burying her face into his chest.
Watching that, Cameron advised, “Women get shy. Don’t scare her.”
Ryan snorted. “She’s no ordinary woman. She’s fierce and always acting tough. If I don’t scare her a little now, I’ll get hell from her later.”
“Now, that’s unexpected,” Cameron said with a laugh. “Then, in the future, you’ve got to take good care of Cassie. She’s pretty introverted. Maybe if they spend time together, it might help her open up a bit.”
“We’ll see about that,” Ryan replied.
