When Brad asked Jean to return to the hospital first, Cameron was the one handling the errands. It was he and Jasper who took Jean back to the hospital.
However, he didn't anticipate that right after he sent Jean there, the latter would immediately leave the hospital.
It was such a cold night, and the roads were hard to navigate. Cameron was baffled as to why Jean would put herself in danger again. He parked the car and rushed to the main building.
Once inside, he saw Brad's shoes from that evening at the entrance but didn't see Brad anywhere. He took out his phone and called Brad.
The next moment, he heard the phone ringing in the bedroom upstairs. Still, there was no sign of Brad.
Knowing that Brad would usually answer his calls, Cameron grew increasingly worried when Brad didn't pick up. He feared that something might have happened to Brad.
Without thinking too much, he quickly changed into slippers and headed straight to the bedroom upstairs.
When he saw Brad lying on the bed, he let out a long sigh of relief.
Walking toward the bedside, Cameron gently nudged Brad, who was fully clothed and lying on the bed. He softly called out, "Mr. Hamilton?"
"Mr. Hamilton?" he called out multiple times, but Brad showed no reaction.
Cameron's worry intensified. He reached out with his index finger to check Brad's breath. After confirming that Brad was still breathing, he felt relieved. "Mr. Hamilton, Ms. Sawyer ran out of the ward and we can't find her. What should we do now?"
He thought Brad was pretending to be asleep, so he deliberately mentioned someone he was interested in. Despite his efforts, Brad didn't wake up.
Before Jasper could complete his sentence, Cameron rushed over. Grabbing Jasper's shoulders as if he had found a savior, he asked urgently, "Where is Mrs. Hamilton? Bring her here immediately. Mr. Hamilton is unwell."
Cameron had been Brad's assistant for eight years and had been by his side since graduation. He knew that Brad had heart disease and that Nadine had been taking care of Brad's health, especially his heart condition, for the past six years. She would definitely know what was going on with Brad.
In his desperation, Cameron gripped Jasper's arm so tightly it hurt.
Jasper also noticed that something was wrong with Brad. Without saying much, he rushed to the basement to find Nadine. "Mrs. Hamilton, Mr. Hamilton is ill. Could you please take a look?"
Nadine, who was fuming with anger, burst into laughter upon hearing that Brad was ill. "Gosh! It must be that even the heavens couldn't tolerate his scummy behavior anymore, so they're making him pay for it. "
Knowing the scumbag was getting what he deserved, she found it hard to conceal her sense of relief and joy.
