Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 966

Smack!

Heaton slammed his fork onto the table.

“How dare you two get a marriage certificate without meeting each other’s parents and getting our permission beforehand?”

Heaton looked serious. With his icily dark face, he gazed at Cherie and Boyle.

Boyle looked at Heaton and calmly explained, “Uncle, about that, it was my idea. Rie has nothing to do with it.”

Boyle took all the blame for himself.

Heaton was not a foolish man. He understood his daughter well. No one would be able to force her if she was unwilling to do something.

The more he looked at Boyle, the angrier Heaton became.

Heaton sprung up from the chair and glared at them coldly. “You two, follow me to the study now!”

Heaton headed upstairs.

Cherie threw a sidelong glance toward Old Master Fudd, pleading for him to help her.

Old Master Fudd huffed. “This bastard, he can do whatever he wants but deprive others of doing it! Back then, he always made decisions without discussing with us!”

Without discussing it with his parents, he found a surrogate mother to bear a child for him and that was the same case with his marriage too.

Within that moment, he was blaming Jelly Bean for the same thing he did back then. Jelly Bean was at fault but she learned it from her father!

Verian was a tad embarrassed. She looked at Old Master Fudd and calmed him. “Dad, don’t be angry at Heaton. He looks cold and stern but I know he won’t severely reprimand them. The kids will be fine.”

Old Master Fudd finished his cup of water and suppressed his anger.

Boyle and Cherie followed Heaton to the study.

In the study, Boyle and Cherie stood in front of the desk as if they were criminals being interrogated.

Heaton sat behind the desk and stared at them. Cherie felt uncomfortable by his stare and pouted. “Dad, I’m not a criminal. Why are you staring at me like that?”

Heaton huffed and side-eyed her. “Without telling me and Monty, you stole the household registration booklet and went to obtain a marriage certificate. Cherie Fudd, you’re so daring, huh!”

Cherie acted innocently. “Dad, you wronged me. I merely wanted to reapply for an ID and took the household registration booklet. It’s just that…I forgot to return you the book and didn’t expect myself to get a marriage certificate so soon too.”

Heaton narrowed his eyes. “You’ve been plotting this for a long time, huh!”

“No, I didn’t. Trust me, dad.”

Heaton waved his hand at her. “Alright, you can leave first.”

Cherie was speechless.

‘That’s it?’ Cherie wondered.

Cherie held Boyle’s hand and said, “Let’s go, Boyle.”

Heaton frowned. “I didn’t ask him to leave.”

“Dad…I’m wrong. I know my mistake.”

“Go back to your room and write a thousand-word reflection essay. Don’t even think of coming out if you didn’t finish it,” Heaton roared.

Cherie lifted her palm in the air. “Let’s make it five hundred!” Cherie bargained.

“One thousand and five hundred words.”

What could Heaton do? Force them to divorce if he objected?

Boyle explained. “I admit I was thoughtless in that matter. In fact, I have selfish motives. I was afraid that you might not accept me as your son-in-law but I eagerly wanted to reassure Rie that I’m willing to spend the rest of my life with her.”

Boyle lifted his gaze and looked at Heaton. “Seven years. Rie and I were separated for seven years. I continually missed her all these years and hoped that she would become my wife. Of course, I hope that I can also atone for the mistake I made seven years ago. And now, I finally get to be by her side and don’t want us to waste time anymore.

“Uncle, I hope you can grant my wish. I will spend the rest of my life doing my best in protecting her and loving her whole-heartedly.”

The room was silent for a moment.

“Boyle? Do you know why I’m pissed?” Heaton was smug.

“You’re pissed because I didn’t get your permission and secretly brought Rie along to register for marriage. I admit that I’m a tad impetuous in this matter. However, I hope to obtain your blessings because you’re the elder Rie is closest to in the world.”

“I’ll support every decision my daughter makes but this doesn’t mean that I’ll like you. You’re practically forcing me to accept you as Jelly Bean’s husband but I can still choose not to like you,” Heaton said.

“I never wished for you to accept me. I know I’ve done many despicable things and hurt Rie. However, from now onward, I’ll make it up to her and love her with all my might. I won’t let her suffer the slightest bit. I can’t guarantee you’ll accept me as your son-in-law in the future but it’ll never affect my feelings toward Rie.”

Cherie was laying on the bed, writing the reflection essay.

After half an hour, she was finally able to write down about two hundred words and what else to say.

After coming out of the study, Boyle headed to Cherie’s room.

Sitting on the bedside, he took the reflection essay from her and read it out loud. “My dear father, I shouldn’t steal the household registration booklet and obtain a marriage certificate with Boyle without your permission. I’ve learned my mistake. I shouldn’t meet Boyle after my recital and ditch my beloved father… However, dad, you know I love you. You’re the man whom I love the most, so you don’t have to be jealous of Boyle…”

Boyle laughed. “Is this your so-called reflection essay?”

She was obviously trying to fawn all over her father.
