Boyle could not bear to look at her as he took out the Anderson's Fairy Tales book from a plastic bag he brought along with him and placed it in Cherie's hand.
"Just read if you feel too lonely in the future."
Cherie shook her head through her teary eyes as she stared at him with a pleading gaze and said, "Boyle… Please bring me home…"
Boyle took a deep breath as he held onto her little hands and said, "Cherie, I'd be irresponsible if I bring you home now. I don't want to see you get hurt for protecting Little Bean Sprout again. Please, think about all of the contradictions and inconsistencies about Little Bean Sprout for me, okay?"
Cherie grabbed his huge hand and replied in a sobbing tone, "I'll think about it when I'm home… Boyle… can I think about it… when I'm home?"
She sounded as helpless as a child and when she was holding him, it felt as if she was grabbing onto her lifeline.
Although Boyle did not have the heart to refuse her, he was still forced to do so.
All Cherie could see was him painfully staring at her in silence for a good long while,
"I can't be free here… I'm no longer the same Cherie as I once was… Boyle… please take me outside… I look like a mess… I undoubtedly look like a complete wreck… I don't like it… I don't like how I currently am."
Cherie's tears started to roll down her eyes. She looked incredibly sad.
Boyle raised his hand and gently wiped her tears away with his fingertips as he said, "Your desperate state is only temporary. Shania will allow me to visit you all the time when you're slightly better."
"No… I don't want to stay here alone… please bring me home… Boyle… please, I'm begging you… they're always watching me… I'm no different from… a captive animal now. Please break me out of here, Boyle… I don't want to be kept in here all the time… Boyle…"
Cherie was grabbing Boyle's arm tightly. Boyle's eyes reddened while his throat was violently twitching. Intense emotions were raging inside of him.
Boyle then grabbed her wrists and slowly pulled his finger out of her grasps.
"I can't take you out, Cherie. You have to find the contradictions and inconsistencies in your reality."
Boyle's phone began to ring and the caller's I.D. showed it was Shania that was calling him.
Boyle did not pick up her call as he knew that Shania was only reminding him that his time was up.
Little Bean Sprout was looking at her.
However, Cherie did not know how to face her.
"I can see… If I can see you… Boyle… Boyle wouldn't bring me home…"
"Why?"
Cherie felt lost and helpless.
Little Bean Sprout stared at her with an innocent look as she sat at the corner, "Do you want me to leave… Sister Jelly Bean?"
"I… I don't know."
She did not have the heart to send her away but she also wanted Boyle to take her away from this place.
