Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 953

Shania decided to hold a meeting with Cherie's family. Both Heaton and Verian were present.

Verian was already in a puddle of tears as she watched the videos that were being projected on screen in the tiny meeting room. She was covering her mouth as she broke down.

As calm and composed Heaton usually was, he teared up in silence upon watching just how helpless his beloved daughter was when she slit her wrists in the bathtub.

Shania did not show them all the thousand plus video recordings but instead, only showed them the important ones since it would take a lot of time to watch all the videos.

After that, Shania gave Heaton a USB stick that contained all of the video recordings Cherie made.

Once both Heaton and Verian were done watching the videos and had somewhat calmed down, Shania said, "Although Cherie's condition is very tricky to treat, as long as we get a clear picture of her feelings and thoughts, it shouldn't be as difficult anymore. She's a simple person. However, as her family members, I suggest you guys prepare to fight the long fight because a condition like hers isn't something that can be cured in a short period of time."

Shania reached out to pat Verian's shoulder to comfort her.

As much as Heaton tried to be strong, his voice was still shaky and soft as he asked, "Can she recover in a year?"

After some thought for a brief moment, Shania said, "A year will be the safest bet but as soon as Cherie is finally aware of her own condition and is very cooperative in receiving her treatment, everything else will be smooth sailing from then. She has to stick to her preion at home and return for checkups on time. If she does all of that, everything will be alright for her."

In other words, it would not be a difficult thing to do for her condition to improve in a year but she would still not be fully recovered then.

Heaton's throat twitched as he pursed his lips before finally nodding his head firmly.

Heaton asked, "Can I see my daughter today? Her mother and I haven't seen her in a really long time now."

Shania nodded and said, "Sure. The main purpose of having both of you here today is to meet Cherie just to offer her a little confidence and encourage her to be strong throughout her entire treatment."

Verian had already dissolved into a puddle of tears and had not spoken a word since.

Shania led both Heaton and Verian to the patient's ward.

Heaton handed Verian a piece of tissue when they arrived at the door. He gently teased Verian and said, "Wipe your tears now so Jelly Bean won't think that we're really sad because of her when she meets us later. Or else, we won't be the one encouraging her but instead, she'd be the one cheering us up."

Verian wiped her tears with the tissue but she still spoke in a very concerned tone, "I'm afraid that I might not be able to stay calm later."

Heaton held onto Verian's hand and led her into the room together.

The door clicked open.

Cherie who was lost in her mind as she sat on the bed sluggishly glanced toward the door.

Heaton desperately held back his tears as he stared at his daughter's clean little face and spoke in a gentle tone, "Harrison will be visiting you tomorrow. He was throwing a fit about visiting you today but Dr. Shania advised against having too many visitors. Since it will disturb you, I told him to visit you tomorrow."

Cherie smiled at Heaton as she helplessly teased, "Harrison… must've… thought… that... I'm a complete idiot now."

Heaton stared at his daughter as he noticed that although she was smiling, she felt worse than if she were to cry...

Heaton reached out to hug his daughter tightly before finally replying with a joking manner, "Tell me if Harrison calls you an idiot. I'll punish him severely at home."

Cherie spoke with a smile, "He won't dare… say it… but... that's what he thinks."

"Thinking about it is not allowed too." Heaton reached out to caress his daughter's face as he added, "Our Jelly Bean has always been a bright child growing up. You are the pride and joy of our family. No one will think awfully about you."

Verian held onto her daughter's hand as she said, "Jelly Bean, no matter what happens, your father, Harrison and I will always be by your side. Don't be afraid and continue to persevere in this treatment, okay?"

Cherie smiled as she said, "I'm not afraid... but the thing is… the meds… tastes really… bitter."

It was extremely bitter.

Both Heaton and Verian took a deep breath as they could no longer keep their tears from falling.
