It did not take long for the ambulance to arrive.
Andy accompanied Sherry in the ambulance.
Cherie had Boyle drive her as they followed them to the hospital.
...
At the psychology department.
After some tests were done to Sherry, the head doctor asked while taking notes, "Did you take your meds as prescribed recently?"
Sherry remained silent so Andy replied, "Her mood was fine recently so she didn't take any. She even lowered her dosage significantly and wasn't even bothered if she had forgotten to take her meds."
The head doctor took a glance at Andy and asked, "Who are you to her?"
"Her boyfriend."
The head doctor said, "She needs to take her meds as prescribed or else the sudden episode she displayed today will happen again in the next three to five days. Since you're her boyfriend, you should contact her family and have them keep her company soon. I suggest you keep her in the hospital for further observation with the current state she's in."
Andy was stunned as he took a glance at the silent Sherry and replied to the doctor in a polite tone. "Alright. Let us discuss this matter for a bit."
After the doctor made his final assessments, he left the ward.
Cherie was standing outside of the patient's ward while looking into the room.
Boyle had a rough idea of what had happened and could roughly understand why she had cried earlier.
It seemed Sherry did not fall into the river earlier. Instead, she was attempting to take her own life.
Andy was sitting beside her bed as he reached out to pull the covers over Sherry before asking for her opinion, "Why don't we stay in the hospital?"
Sherry stared at him with a helpless gaze as she replied while shaking her head, "I'll be sad if I stay here. I don't want to stay in the hospital."
…
Cherie remained completely silent when she got out of the hospital.
When she approached the car, she was unsure what was wrong with the door handle as she could not open it no matter how hard she tried.
It seemed Cherie's emotions had finally caught up to her as she started kicking the car.
She seemed extremely frustrated.
Boyle pulled her into his arms and embraced her tightly. He held onto the back of her head while burying her little face into his chest.
Boyle did not lower his head to look at her as he merely said, "Go ahead and cry."
Cherie's tears came pouring out as she broke down in his embrace. It did not take long for Boyle's shirt to be completely soaked in her tears.
She was sobbing hard while her hands grabbed Boyle's shirt around his waist tightly, wrinkling it.
She did not know how long she spent crying in Boyle's arms.
When Boyle was finally certain that she had stopped crying, he raised the little face from his embrace with his huge hand and stared intensely at her.
He stared at her with a sympathetic gaze as he asked, "Tell me, why did you cry? Was it because of Sherry or yourself?"
Cherie remained silent.
Cherie was unable to speak nor was she able to answer his question.
All she wanted was to cry since her emotions were pent up for a really long time. Her emotions were like a ball of yarn. They were messy and she felt so frantic that she wanted to cry.
"Go ahead and sleep."
Cherie did not sleep as she laid on his lap and said, "Sherry's parents divorced each other while she was still in middle school, so she was raised by her grandma. However, her grandma passed away a few years ago so she has no family anymore."
Therefore, it would be troublesome for Sherry to stay in the hospital since she had no family to take care of her.
Boyle said, "I understand. Don't worry, those are just minor problems."
He would help take care of her.
Cherie grabbed Boyle's jeans as she asked, "Boyle, you've seen those videos, haven't you?"
She was referring to those video recordings she made on her phone.
"Yeah, I have," Boyle replied while he gently caressed her forehead as he stared intensely at the woman that was lying on his lap.
Cherie grabbed Boyle's hand that was covering her eyes.
Boyle stared at her and cracked a warm smile as he said, "It's all my fault. To be honest, I feel a little proud about it because I know how much and how deeply you actually love me after watching those videos."
Cherie dug her fingers into the back of his hand and said, "You should love me more then. Even more than how much I love you."
Boyle chuckled after hearing her barbaric request and said, "Yeah. It's always been the same. My love for you has never changed."
Cherie smiled.
Boyle moved his hand away from her eyes and grabbed her soft little hand before lowering himself and kissing the woman on his lap.
The sun rays warmly engulfed them both.
