Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 850

Cherie headed back to her hostel dispiritedly. Soon after, she received a call from Tyler.

Tyler excitedly said, “Jelly Bean, I’ll be back to the capital next month. My father managed to secure a place as an exchange student at your university. Soon, we can study together like how we used to when we were young.”

Cherie held her phone by her ear with one hand while hugging her knees to her chest.

Before she knew it, tears started rolling down her cheeks.

She wanted to find someone to pour out her emotions. However, she dared not do so.

She was dumped and was pregnant out of wedlock. How should she phrase such humiliated matters to people?

“Jelly Bean, are you feeling okay? Why didn’t you say anything? Aren’t you excited about me attending your school?”

Cherie gulped and held her tears back in. She forced a smile and answered, “Of course I do. I won’t feel lonely with you here.”

Tyler was complacent. “I knew it. Without me by your side, you must have been lonely all these while.”

“Tyler, thank you.”

Tyler smiled in embarrassment. “Why did you thank me? I didn’t attend your school just to receive gratitude from you. What I want is…”

Long story short, he would have ample of time to win her heart once he started studying at Capital University.

He did not believe that his eighteen years of friendship with Cherie would be easily replaced by Boyle.

After hanging up the call, Cherie hugged her knees and remained silent for a long time.

Soon after, Natalie entered the dormitory.

Mandy and Joy had gone to the cafeteria for lunch. Hence, she and Natalie were left alone in the dorm.

Natalie glanced at Cherie who was curled up in a ball on the top bunk. “Cher, you and Boyle had broken up, right?”

Cherie donned a cold, pale face. “Does it have anything to do with you?”

Natalie was not enraged. Rather, she tactfully said, “Erm… I was afraid that you’re still in contact with Boyle. Today, he asked me to become his girlfriend and I’ve yet to give him an answer. I was afraid that you would get angry once I agreed on becoming his girlfriend. We’re dormmates after all. I don’t want to ruin our friendship.”

Cherie dug her nails into her palms and her palms became red.

She looked down on two-faced people like Natalie and was unwilling to show the weak side of her. She stared at her with contempt and smiled. “Boyle’s matters are none of my concern anymore. You don’t have to report to me if he’s pursuing you or asking you to be his girlfriend.”

“How can you say that? I’m just afraid that our friendship will fall apart because of Boyle.”

Cherie snickered. “Are we even friends? Why didn’t I know that? Does it even matter if our friendship is falling apart or not?”

Natalie could not stand her rebuttal anymore. She gritted her teeth and her eyes were flaring in anger. “Cherie, you can’t be arrogant and bossy just because you’re a daughter from a wealthy family. Besides, Boyle dumped you. Do you think you can still boss me around? You’re just a pair of worn out shoes.”

Cherie laughed and said, “How about you? You’re proud of getting together with Boyle and so what? Is it just because Boyle and I dated that you think that it’s glorious to steal the things that I once had?”

“You!”

“You like the lipsticks I used and the clothes I wore. Now, you liked the man I dated too. Natalie, in fact, you have no interest in Boyle. You like me, right?”

Natalie gritted her teeth. “Cherie! Stop spouting nonsense!”

“Why would I talk rubbish to you if you didn’t initiate it?”

Natalie snorted. “You’re just refusing to face the truth. In fact, you probably can’t open up to someone after Boyle broke up with you and ditched you! He probably slept with you countless times when you two lived together! He was just using you to relieve his sexual needs since he doesn’t have to pay for it. Do you know? Boyle told me that he did not want to treat me like what he did to you. He will control his sexual drive and that’s because I hold a special place in his heart.”

Cherie dug her nails deep into her palms hard enough to cause them to bleed.

She did not believe that Boyle was the kind of person who would play with people’s feelings.

Boyle wheeled his small, black trolley suitcase and said, “I’ll leave if you aren’t going to say something.”

He closed the door and turned around to leave with his suitcase. However, she grabbed his arms and held him back. Her hands were cold.

“Boyle…”

Her voice was dry and hoarse and he could feel his heart aching in pain for her.

He could sense the grievance she had as she choked back her tears.

He did not turn around as he was afraid that he would lose control and hug her after seeing her tears.

She lowered her gaze and her eyes were fixated on the mandrin orange tattoo on his left arm.

She uttered in a rough voice, “I didn’t sleep last night. I’ve been cracking my head, thinking about why you didn’t like me anymore and why you’d want to break up with me. If it’s as you told me at the amusement park, I can change to be the person you like.”

“If you don’t like me being childish, I can work hard to become a mature woman. I won’t pester you if you don’t want me to cling to you, hogging your work time. If you’re tired from work and don’t feel like replying to my messages or calls, I won’t text or call you wilfully like before.”

“I can change, Boyle. I can accommodate you and you don’t have to do the same to me.”

She had never liked someone this much to the point where she was willing to lose her pride and dignity. Even if he dumped her ruthlessly, she would still go up to him and wished to reconcile with him.

She liked him too much. She wished to continue liking him even if it means sacrificing her dignity.

Five or ten years later, she perhaps would look back on her past, finding herself being foolish and reckless in this relationship. However, she was only eighteen now and she wanted nothing else but him.

“Boyle, let’s get back together. I really don’t want to break up with you.”

Tears welled up in her eyes and they fell onto Boyle’s arms. Her teardrops scalded his skin like fireballs, leaving a mark on his heart.
