Natalie and the other girl appeared somewhat embarrassed and awkward after Cherie walked in on them talking bad about her behind her back.
The girl got up quickly and said, “Natalie, I still have some matters to deal with so I’ll make a move first. You can visit our dorm at any time.”
“Sure.”
Natalie made no apology after the girl left. She did not appear guilty at all. Instead, she stood up confidently and approached Cherie.
“Why are you not angry? Why aren’t you reacting to what I said earlier?”
Cherie was angry yet she thought it was funny at the same time. “How do you want me to be angry at you? Do you want me to defame you behind your back? Or should I force you to apologize to me?”
Natalie frowned. She felt as though all her effort had gone to waste. Instead of pissing Cherie off, she had turned herself into a petty clown.
Natalie’s anger rose as Cherie ignored her. She stretched out her hand and grabbed Cherie’s arm.
“Cherie Fudd, are you having fun acting like you’re not affected at all? You’re actually angry and want to lash out at me, right? Go ahead. Why are you acting all ladylike? Do you think you’re all high and mighty just because you’re willing to let bygones be bygones?”
Cherie was speechless.
‘Is she nuts?’
Cherie responded, “I don’t want to argue with you because I don’t want to deal with such immature and low standard behavior. If a dog bites me, I won’t bite back.”
Natalie’s face turned red out of anger. “Cherie Fudd, who are you calling a dog? Are you insinuating that I’m a dog? Why did Boyle fall in love with a b*tch like you?”
Cherie remained calm. It seemed like she was not pissed off at all. “Should I ask my boyfriend why he fell in love with me on your behalf tomorrow?”
Natalie was the one who had started everything yet she was the one who was raging with anger. She had no idea how to talk back to Cherie for a moment.
“Don’t think that Boyle is really in love with you. He’ll dump you once he’s bored sleeping with you. Hmph.”
Cherie was already in bed with her earphones plugged in. She was completely cut off from Natalie’s harsh words.
She could not guarantee how much Boyle loved her, but she was sure that Boyle was serious and loyal in their relationship.
He had a lot of chances if he only wanted to sleep with her, yet he did not do anything to her. This showed that he truly cared for her.
…
Natalie sat on the bottom bunk and took a glance at the girl above her. She was flipping through a book with her earphones on.
Anger built up in her as she looked at Cherie who was not affected at all.
She looked at the kettle next to her. The same kettles were provided to all students but they had their own specific place to put their kettles so that they would not pick the wrong one.
The bottom part of her kettle happened to break that morning.
Natalie clenched her fist and looked at Cherie on the top bunk. She exchanged her kettle with Cherie’s kettle after making sure Cherie was not looking.
After reading her book and listening to her music for a moment, Cherie went to the pantry to fill up her empty kettle.
Natalie stared at Cherie’s back as she walked out of the room and let out a deep sigh.
‘Cherie Fudd, don’t blame me. You’re the one who was acting all cocky.”
…
Cherie was walking back to her dorm after she was done filling up her kettle with water.
The kettle exploded with a loud bang when she was about to reach her dorm!
“Argh!”
The boiling hot water splashed on her calf and feet, instantly scalding her skin!
It hurt a lot!
The dormitory manager heard her screams and rushed over. She called the ambulance as soon as she saw Cherie had been scalded by the boiling water from the exploded kettle. Her burns were pretty severe.
Natalie walked out of the dorm when she heard the ambulance’s sirens. Standing on the balcony, she saw the paramedics carrying Cherie into the ambulance downstairs.
She felt thrilled after getting her revenge but at the same time, she was also afraid. She was afraid that she would be held responsible if someone found out the truth.
However, she smirked as she thought of the burn scars on Cherie’s fair legs. She would not be able to seduce guys in mini-skirts anymore in the future.
…
Boyle immediately rushed to the hospital as soon as he received a call from the hospital.
Cherie wrapped her arms around his waist and snuggled up in his embrace. She looked at her swollen right calf and feet bandaged in white gauze. She could not help but feel concerned. “Boyle, will my leg be disfigured for life?”
Boyle laughed. “Is that how you’d describe your own legs?”
“My legs will be disfigured if there are burn marks. I’ll look ugly then.”
Boyle lowered his head and gently pressed his forehead against hers as he consoled her. “Medical technology nowadays is very advanced. You won’t get scars.”
“What if I get scars? Will you think they look disgusting?”
“No.”
He would never dislike her no matter how she looked.
Cherie broke into a smile. Her red eyes lit up as well. “Boyle, I’m hungry.”
“What do you want to eat? I’ll order it for you.”
“But I’m craving for your stir-fried minced pork rice with pickled beans.”
Boyle let out a faint sigh and pinched her face. “How can I leave you all alone here to go back home and cook for you?”
Cherie pouted. “Can you cook them for me tomorrow then?”
“Alright. I’ll go to your university to get you a change of clothes tomorrow and bring you your food.”
Cherie sighed. “How long do I need to stay here?”
“I asked the doctor when I was paying the bills earlier. He said you need to be hospitalized for at least a week.”
“What about my classes then?” Cherie asked.
Boyle said, “I know your counselor so I’ll call him to apply for leave for you.”
Cherie was stunned. Her eyes widened in surprise. “You know my counselor? Boyle, you’re amazing!”
Boyle curled his fingers and gently flicked her forehead.
He meant it seriously when he said he liked her. As a boyfriend, he should know everything about her, including the people and events around her. He wanted to be a part of her life.
