Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 692

That’s how it seems to be right now. The CT scan does show she’s suffered from head injuries. However, I’ve met countless patients suffering concussions and head injuries but none who can’t remember his or her name.”

Blaine glanced at the woman on the hospital bed who was hugging herself tightly while scanning her surroundings with her vigilant gaze. He squinted his eyes and asked the doctor, “Is it possible that she’s just pretending to have amnesia?”

“This…isn’t possible, I think? However, there’s a high chance that the patient is suffering short-term memory loss as this symptom always occurs in concussion patients after regaining consciousness.”

“Short-term memory loss? When will she regain her memory?”

Fearing that Blaine might do something bad to him due to his identity, the doctor stuttered as he answered, “This… I can’t give you a fixed date on when.”

Blaine strode toward the patient ward and sat by the woman’s bedside to scrutinize her.

“You can’t remember your name, your friends, or your family?”

Ruby nodded cautiously. “Are you the one who saved me?”

“It was nothing.”

Blaine continued. “I don’t care if you did lose your memory or if you’re just faking it. Needless to say, I’ll take full responsibility for your hospital expenses. After you’re discharged from the hospital, if you have yet to regain your memories by then, you can go to the police station and they’ll assist you in contacting your friends and family.”

Old K standing behind Blaine thought to himself, ‘Master Blaine, don’t you know that she’s just an orphan? Where can she find her family?’

Just as Blaine was about to stand up and leave the ward, Ruby clasped his sleeves to stop him from doing so.

Blaine was stunned for a moment. He turned his head around and gazed at the fair, tender hands which were pulling his sleeves. ‘Why are you trying to cling onto me?’ Blaine wondered.

The woman looked him straight in the eyes and spoke in a resolute tone, “You’ve saved me and my life belongs to you now. Besides, I can’t remember anything now so you must take responsibility for me.”

Ruby looked like an exceptionally overbearing brat.

Blaine was not angry at her words. He could not help but chuckled helplessly as he stared at her exquisite facial features even if she was pale and weak right now. “You said I’m your life savior. Do you think it’s appropriate for you to scam me by clinging onto me and demanding me to take full responsibility?”

No woman would dare to scam him so openly.

Blaine was at loss for words.

Old K was utterly speechless too. Although he donned a serious expression, he was trying to hold his laughter in!

Blaine removed her hands from his waist before turning around to look at her. With his slender fingers, he pinched and lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him.

“Repay me with your body? Are you sure? I’m pretty particular with the women I choose.”

Needless to say, he was more vigilant toward her as she was an amnesiac woman with an unknown background.

The woman stretched three fingers out and swore to God. Her gaze was pure and genuine. “I’ll never leech from you and will repay you with my labor. Even if you don’t want me, you can at least take me in for a few days out of sympathy…”

Ruby always had a profound insight into people’s emotions through their eyes. She could sense his determination wavering, and there was a trace of compassion in his eyes. She grabbed this opportunity and quickly clasp at the hem of his shirt while staring at him intently with her clear, bright eyes.

As long as Blaine was willing to bring her back home, it would just be a matter of time before he gained his trust!
