Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 657

At Clear River Town.

After dinner, Serene led Wilson downstairs with sparklers in her hand.

It was a small town, so everyone knew each other. The street was filled with kids running around; they were having the time of their lives.

Wilson lit a sparkler and passed it to Serene. She took it and waved against the dusk as her face beamed with joy.

Fireworks were everywhere; the sky was painted with various colors.

Wilson knew why Serene wanted to go back to Clear River Town for the New Years', but it was not because she wanted to go back; she hated it there. She has been complaining about the heater since they arrived. She wanted to let Wilson experience the festive and homely atmosphere at Clear River Town.

Suddenly, Serene whispered in his ear. "Happy New Year, Wilson! I'll be with you every New Years' and New Year's Eve."

"Likewise, Mrs. Jarret, likewise."

Some kids rushed toward them; they threw some bang snaps at Serene's feet. Serene jumped and covered her ears. The kids laughed in merriment.

She pretended to be annoyed and said, "Bloody kids! How dare you throw bang snaps at me?!"

The kids laughed and ran off.

Wilson suggested, "Should I get some, and we'll scare them as well?"

Serene's eyes sparkled. "Good idea!"

Then after a while, she said, "Hold on! Wilson, you like to make fun of people, too! You're just like those kids!"

Wilson looked at Serene cheekily. "What? No! I only like to do it with you!"

Serene smiled widely.

They were about to get some bang snaps when Serene's phone rang. When she hung up, she said, "Those were my friends from middle school; they wanted to have a small gathering. It's at a hotel in town. Shall we go?"

They walked to the hotel as it was only nearby.

When they entered the dining room, everyone stopped in their tracks and looked at them.

Serene had gained quite a lot of weight due to her pregnancy, so no one recognized her. Plus, when they saw Wilson, they were stunned for quite some time.

It was not until she took off her scarf and greeted them awkwardly that someone asked, "Serene Ludd?"

"It is Serene! You've grown…big!"

"Come sit!"

"And you are…?" Serene smiled. She was about to introduce Wilson to the rest of her friends when he said, "Wilson Jarret, Serene's husband."
