Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 408

Wilson went to the supermarket with Serene after they finished their spicy hot pot.

Serene curiously asked, “Why are we going to the supermarket? Are you still hungry? Do we need to cook again when we go home?”

“There’s no food left in the refrigerator. We need breakfast for tomorrow morning, and we’ll be leaving most probably at noon. Thus, we might have to cook lunch as well.”

Serene praised him, “You live such a regular life. I would’ve ordered takeout for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I’m too lazy to cook.”

The man said in a solemn tone, “Takeouts are not good for your health. Stop ordering takeout.”

Serene was fastening her seat belt as she mumbled, “Well, it’s convenient to order takeout. My housemate, Shirley, is usually not home during the weekends. I can’t finish the food all by myself if I cook. Moreover, I have to do dishes after I’m done eating. It’s very troublesome.”

“From now onwards, come and eat at my place during the weekends.”

Serene replied casually, “Mmhmm, even if you don’t invite me over, I’ll go over to scrounge a free meal every weekend”

Wilson’s mood lit up.

They bought a lot of ingredients and cooking utensils at the supermarket.

Wilson pulled Serene into the daily necessities aisle.

“Why are we here?”

“We’re buying you a pair of slippers and a toothbrush.”

Serene was speechless.

She was not planning to pitch a camp at his place…

However, Serene did not dare voice out her thoughts. Staying alive was more important.

Wilson brought Serene into his apartment. It was located at the center of the city. It was not a big apartment as it was only a studio apartment but it was ideal for couples to live in.

The man behind Serene suddenly pushed and grabbed her as soon she entered the door. Taken aback, she found herself being pressed against the wall.

The room was dark as the lights were still off. Serene was staring wide-eyed at the man in front of her through the faint light.

“What… what do you want?”

The man’s answer was straight to the point, “I want a kiss.”

Wilson’s voice was deep, magnetic, and damn… it was charming.

Just… a kiss?

She did not say a word and let out an ambiguous hum instead. He lowered his head and supported her hip with his hand. Then, he carried her and pressed her against the wall. It was the perfect height for a kiss.

That kiss was hot and somewhat out of control.

Wilson pressed his head against her forehead as he let out a faint sigh, “Next time, eat less spicy food.”

“Hmm?”

His kiss left her dazed. She did not understand how they came to that topic.

“It’s not good for your stomach. Also, it doesn’t feel nice to kiss you like that. It’s kind of spicy.”

Serene was speechless.

Her face was blushing furiously in the dark!

He must have only cared about the kiss which felt a bit spicy!

Yet, she was too cowardly and could only answer in a soft voice, “In that case, I’ll brush my teeth next time before you kiss me…”

Argh! Who was that girl talking just now! That definitely was not her!

Wilson’s chuckles broke the silence. He kissed her again and spoke in a hoarse voice, “Alright.”

Serene was already sprawled out in front of her laptop, looking at her thesis with hands supporting her head when Wilson came out from the shower.

He walked over and wrapped her in his long arms. He scanned through the screen of her laptop and asked, “Do you want some fruits? I’ll go and cut up some fruits for you.”

“Why don't I cut the fruits and you help me with my thesis?” Serene immediately felt embarrassed after asking him that question.

Wilson did not tease her. Instead, he kissed the top of her head and said, “You go take a shower. I’ll help you with your thesis.”

Serene was excited. She got up straight away and gave him her seat. “Have a seat here and take your time then. I’ll go shower now, alright? Also, try not to make it too flawless. I’m afraid my lecturer would notice. As long as it’s enough for me to pass, that will do.”

Wilson sat in front of the laptop and went through her thesis while she was in the shower.

It was terrible. That was why her lecturer did not approve her thesis.

He deleted some unnecessary paragraphs and started tapping on the keyboard with his long fingers.

Serene came out of her shower and headed to the kitchen to cut up some fruits. Then, she placed the fruits on a tray and carried them to Wilson, trying to make it up to him.

“How’s everything going?”

The man had already put her on the bed. The sheets and covers were grey in color. The design was simple and it looked exactly like a bed where a man would sleep.

Wilson hugged her and laid down on the bed with her. He covered both of them in the blanket and said, “Sleep here. Don’t try to escape.”

The man’s hands were wrapped firmly around her waist.

Serene’s eyes widened. She stared at the surroundings but dared not look at the man next to her.

Wilson was lying sideways and was staring at her fair face. Suddenly, he called her, “Babe.”

“Mmm?”

“Come closer. Let me hug you.”

Serene hesitated as she said, “I think that’s not appropriate.”

Wilson kept staring at her, making her tremble. His gaze was as though questioning her if there was anything wrong with that.

Cautiously, Serene moved closer to him bit by bit. She was about to reach Wilson’s side but it seemed like he could not endure the torture anymore. Suddenly, he turned around swiftly and trapped her under him…

Serene was petrified. Her eyelashes trembled furiously.

Right when the man’s thin lips were about to touch hers, she shut her eyes tightly and bit her lips. She looked as though she was prepared to give everything away.

Wilson wanted to tease her but he changed his mind.

He turned over and turned off the light. Serene opened her eyes gradually. Hands clutching onto the quilt, she looked confused.

“Are you going to sleep?”

The man replied to her dully, “Mmhmm, I’m not going to bully you anymore.”

Wilson wanted to wait until they spent more time together. It seemed like she still needed time to open up to him fully.

Serene pulled the quilt and covered her face with it. She stared at the ceiling, rolled her eyes and said, “Actually… it should be fine.”

Erm… who was that person speaking earlier? What a thick-skinned person. It was definitely not her.

“What did you say?”

“No… nothing…”

“Babe, I heard you.”

Mmmm…
