Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 315

Verian sat in his embrace for a really long time. Her eyelids were starting to feel heavy.

Heaton carried her in his arms and walked toward the bedroom.

Verian snapped herself awake and hugged his neck with both arms as she said, “Not working anymore?”

“It’s late, it’s time to sleep.”

Verian was still thinking about bringing Little Jelly Bean over as she shook his neck while saying, “Can you pick Little Jelly Bean up from her kindergarten and bring her over on your way back from work tomorrow?”

“Can you still keep me company at night if I bring her here tomorrow?”

Verian was speechless.

She clenched her fist and gently pounded his shoulder and said, “Who would get jealous of their own daughters?”

Heaton did not reply and it seemed he would not bring Little Jelly Bean over tomorrow.

Heaton drove back from work the following night.

Verian was still drawing upstairs and she could hear a child-like voice coming from downstairs.

“Monty! Monty! I’m here! Where’re you?”

Verian’s eyes lit up as she tossed her paintbrush aside and hastily rushed downstairs. She was immediately greeted with Little Jelly Bean who resembled a dumpling as she carried her little backpack.

The little rascal scoffed and said, “You and Daddy are so mean, you guys rather live here than to visit me!”

Verian walked over with a smile while listening to the little rascal’s complaints while also helping her take her backpack off. She touched her tiny little face and asked, “Are you cold?”

“I’m not! Grandpa made Madam Leah put so many layers of clothing on me. I’m almost dead from the heat!”

The heater was switched on at home as Verian helped the little rascal take her jacket off and helped her change into a pair of little yellow duck slippers.

Heaton entered the house soon after.

When Verian was helping him grab his slippers, she could not hold herself back from asking, “Weren’t you unwilling to bring Little Jelly Bean here yesterday, why did you…change your mind today?”

Heaton stared at her intensely with his dark eyes. He seemed to be teasing her as he said, “If I don’t bring her over, wouldn’t you throw a tantrum on me because you’re unhappy?”

Verian blushed and said, “Since when?”

However, bringing Little Jelly Bean over was actually a surprise for her so naturally, she was quite happy.

Little Jelly Bean laid on the couch like a young master while touching her tiny belly, she said, “Monty, I’m hungry! Is there anything to eat?”

Verian handed her a piece of toast and said, “It’ll be dinner soon so have some bread to munch on first.”

Little Jelly Bean was eating a bland piece of toast. After a few bites, she left it aside and no longer wished to eat. Children enjoy sweet, sour, or anything with flavor. She was uninterested toward toast.

The little rascal took the remote and started looking for cartoons to watch before Heaton reminded her, “Cherie Fudd, are you done with the homework your teacher assigned?”

“I’ll get to it after I’m done watching cartoons.”

“Finish your homework before you watch cartoons.”

Little Jelly Bean scoffed before tossing the remote to the side, picked up her bag and walked toward the dining table while mumbling, “Grandpa allows me to watch cartoons before I do my homework and you wouldn’t, how unreasonable. My teacher said if a child wants to grow up healthily, the father shouldn’t be pressuring them. It’ll have a side effect for putting too much pressure on the child.”

Verian laughed after hearing that as she said, “Oh, Little Jelly Bean knows about side effects of too much pressure.”

The little rascal knew a lot.

Little Jelly Bean raised her chin up in pride and said, “Of course, my teacher said I’m a smart kid.”

Heaton began to make habitual discouraging remarks, “It doesn’t matter how smart you are if you’re not hardworking you’d be a little trash bag. If you don’t want to be a huge trash bag, hurry up and do your homework.”

“Hmph.”

Little Jelly Bean scoffed and refused to butt heads with Heaton as she took out her homework from her bag.

Heaton took his coat off, rolled up his sleeves, and went to help Verian in the kitchen.

Heaton said, “The prerequisite being she has to have photographic memory like me. Remember everything with a glance. However, that’s pretty unlikely.”

“Why? I think Little Jelly Bean is smart.”

“She’s smart but usually, a child’s intelligence is based on the average value of both parents.”

Heaton took a good long teasing look at her before confidently saying, “Little Jelly Bean’s IQ might actually be lower than yours just by a tiny bit.”

The corner of Verian’s mouth twitched.

Little Jelly Bean ran over and said, “Monty I’m thirsty! I want some orange juice!”

“I’ll get you a glass, just wait for a little while.”

Little Jelly Bean pouted her lips while she stood by the kitchen’s door. She asked, “Daddy, did you call me dumb earlier?”

“You’re not dumb, just a little dumber than daddy.”

Which Little Jelly Bean replied with, “Oh,” before continuing with, “Daddy, how do you prove that I’m a little dumber than you?”

Heaton raised his brows and asked that little rascal in a serious manner, “Can you win me in video games? Did I not know how to do your homework when you’re having problems with it? Did I also not know the words that you don’t as well?”

Both Little Jelly Bean and Verian were speechless.

Not only was this man shameless, he was also severely self-absorbed.

“Daddy, you’re really childish.”

Heaton had a serious look on his face as he said, “Cherie Fudd, get over here. Who’re you calling childish?”

Little Jelly Bean stood there unmoving while pouting her little mouth. She said, “My teacher said, any adult who competes with a child is immature!”

Heaton was speechless.

How did he give birth to such a witty daughter? His partner had to be the cause of it.
