Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1107

On the night of Shayne’s birthday, he had quite a lot to drink with Lucas before returning back to the Luna Mansion.

A female figure blocked him when the car arrived at the entrance.

The driver did not expect that a person would suddenly rush out in the dark.

He quickly slammed on the brakes. Thankfully the car had a good braking system, so he did not crash into her.

Shayne was in the back seat, slightly tipsy. He was hurled forward by the emergency brakes and was a little annoyed. He was about to yell at the driver when he lifted his head and noticed the familiar looking slender figure in front of him.

The car lights were shining on the lady.

For a moment, Shayne thought he saw wrongly. He had a closer look and realized he was not wrong.

The lady that was standing in front of the car looked too different from the person he remembered from his memories.

Shayne stumbled out of the car and placed one hand on the hood of the car as he furrowed his brows. He looked at Cara in front of him and said impatiently, “Blocking my car? Are you trying to extort me for money or are you seeking death?” His tone was fierce.

It was a night in March and North City’s weather was still cold.

Cara was only wearing a thinly knitted shirt in the chilly spring breeze. It looked extremely thin. She looked at Shayne, aggrieved, “Master Shayne, I heard from my mother that it’s your birthday today, so I came from school and waited for you here… I’ve not had my dinner till now. Master Shayne, I’m here to celebrate your birthday.”

Cara, with a cake in her hands, smiled at Shayne shyly and said, “Master Shayne, I made this cake myself.”

Shayne was getting annoyed with her.

Although Yanny and Cara were from different mothers, they shared the same father. Cara would come to hang out with him when she had nothing to do, just to show her affection, whereas Yanny was a significantly different person compared to her. She barely wished him a happy birthday, let alone baked him a cake.

If Cara and Yanny could swap characters, that would be great.

However, Shayne felt that that was not the case. He brought it upon himself. He liked Yanny’s unlikeable character.

There were many people who were pleasing to the eye, but Yanny's unpleasant personality was rare.

Shayne raised his eyebrows. Although he did not like Cara, she baked him a cake and waited for him in the cold. He did not bother to say anything nasty, so he merely said, “I’m not eating the cake. Go back.”

“Why don’t I make you dinner, Master Shayne? You worked till late, so I’m sure you haven’t eaten yet, right? I learned how to cook from a chef when I was in university, so why don’t I cook for you, Master Shayne?”

Shayne lost his patience. He said in annoyance, “Do you not understand the human language? Don’t block my way. Leave!”

Cara stood there, aggrieved. She was almost in tears. She looked at him with reddened eyes and said, “Why do you dislike me? Yanny went to Hollywood and dumped you, so what's so good about her? She’s just a gold digger. When she finished using you, she just threw you aside!”

“Shut up!”

Cara’s words triggered Shayne. It lit the fury in his heart.

He could think of a million reasons why Yanny was not a good person. He could call her a heartless b*tch who dumped him after using him.

However, only he could say things like that. No one else could say bad things about Yanny.

Lucas had one drink too many and started talking without restraint earlier. He said that Yanny was a heartless gold digger and was immediately punched by Shayne in the face.

Shayne would protect those close to him to an unreasonable point.

Even though Lucas was siding with him, talking bad about Yanny was not something Shayne would be able to accept.

If anyone complained about Yanny, it would be an insult to him.

Shayne angrily got into the car and slammed the door. He yelled at the driver, “Drive!”

Cara was still in front of the car, blocking the road.

Shayne’s birthday had passed. It was too late to wish him.

Yanny was searching for her phone backstage in the dressing room. At that moment, Kelly walked over in her high heels. She passed Yanny’s phone to her. “Are you looking for this?”

“Where did you find it?”

Kelly gracefully admitted, “I was afraid you would still be stupid enough to return to North City to celebrate your boyfriend’s birthday, so this morning, I took your phone from your bag and locked it in a safe for the entire day. Now that your boyfriend’s birthday has passed, you can concentrate on your acting.”

Yanny took over the phone, furrowed her brows, bit her lip, and glared at her. “Kelly, you've crossed the line!"

Kelly was stunned. She did not expect Yanny’s reaction to be so extreme. “Hey, this is for your own good! Can’t you see I’m doing you a favor?”

Yanny grabbed her phone and left the set without removing her makeup.

When she ran out of the set, it was already night. It has been over 10 hours since Shayne’s birthday. Yanny grabbed her phone and sat on the steps. She suddenly felt helpless.

Emotions that had been suppressed for two over months suddenly erupted at this moment.

Tears kept falling.

Kelly chased after her. When she noticed she was just sitting there, all alone, she sighed and said, “You're crying because I confiscated your phone?”

Yanny was not the kind of person that would be sad that easily. However, right at that moment, she could not control her emotions. She buried her face in her arms and sobbed. She choked, “I can’t talk to you properly right now. Let me be alone.”

Kelly looked at her and smiled helplessly, then she walked over in her high heels, and sat down next to her. She fished tissues out from her bag and passed it to Yanny.

She teased, “Stop crying, you still have to shoot tomorrow. How could you be on camera with swollen eyes? Hollywood’s post-production team won’t edit your swollen and bloodshot eyes.”

Yanny wanted to cry, but even her right to cry had been taken away.
