Early the following morning.
After Yanny woke up, she noticed that the man next to her had not woken up yet, so she propped her head up and stared intensely at him.
Yanny started giggling immediately as she greeted her master with a sweet huge smile, "Good morning, Shayne."
Shayne glared at her with a mockingly cold gaze as he said, "I actually thought you'd be surprised to find that the man sleeping next to you is actually me when you wake up."
He even scoffed after saying that.
Yanny did not know what he meant when he said that nor could she be bothered to understand him.
Shayne then got out of bed.
He took a glance at the woman who was still in bed and said, "Aren't you getting out of bed?"
Yanny clutched onto the covers before staring at him with a pair of innocent eyes. Her beautiful face looked a little lazy as she said, "Can I sleep for a little while longer, Shayne?"
Shayne smiled as he stood by the bed while staring at her with a cold gaze. He said, "Did you know that I was extremely tempted to violate you to death last night?"
Yanny did not think much of it as she assumed he was just flirting with her. However, it seemed Shayne was actually serious about violating her to death last night.
Yanny yawned as she asked in a semi-serious tone while propping her little head up with her hands and staring at Shayne with a curious look, "Why?"
The man squeezed her chin with his long slender fingers. However, he was not gentle at all since he was actually squeezing her hard while he inched slightly closer to her as he said, "I reckon you best behave. Acting coquettishly as my woman is a very dangerous thing to do."
Yanny started beaming delightfully as she squinted her huge eyes. She looked extremely pure and innocent as she said, "I don't like anyone else but you, Shayne."
The man's gaze dimmed as he stared menacingly at her for five whole seconds.
In the end, Shayne released her chin and simply said, "You have quite the talent in acting. It seems my judgement was right after all."
Yanny was speechless.
Since Yanny was too exhausted, she actually went back to sleep for twenty minutes which caused her to be late to school.
Shayne was enjoying his breakfast and coffee at the dining table as he leisurely watched Yanny panicking.
When Shayne walked out to the courtyard and just as he was about to start his car, Yanny ran after him while carrying her backpack. She opened the door to the co-driver's seat without a second thought and immediately got in.
Just as she was about to buckle her seat belts, Shayne ruthlessly ordered her, "Get out."
Yanny was stunned.
"Did I say that I was going to drive you to school?"
Yanny secretly took a deep breath and calmed herself down before forcing a huge and friendly smile on her face as she said, "Oh Shayne, since I was having such a difficult time last night, could you please send to me school since it's convenient for you? Besides, Jinn Group and the school are on the same route anyway. All you have to do is drop me off along the road to the school's main entrance and you don't need to purposefully drop me off in school. Thus, it basically won't take any of your precious time away, Shayne."
Shayne released her seat belts and cracked a distant smile at her as he said, "It's inconvenient to me."
Yanny was speechless.
Was she not on her best behavior last night?
However, it seemed Yanny would never know just how dire of a mistake she would make by calling out another man's name in her sleep.
After Yanny was kicked out of the car, she furiously gritted her teeth as she watched Shayne drive away from the courtyard.
She grabbed her phone and hastily called a cab.
However, she was still late by the time she arrived at school and she was punished by the school's instructor to run five laps around a four hundred metres track.
She was pretty much dead by the time she finished running.
…
In Jinn Group's office building.
It seemed Shayne kept thinking about Samuel, the name Yanny called out in her sleep while he was in his morning meeting.
Shayne had never felt so insulted in his entire life.
'Samuel, was her ex-boyfriend?'
'Hmph, having an ex-boyfriend at such a young age. She truly isn't an obedient girl at all.'
However, a certain someone would never think about just how many women he had charmed when he was eighteen. He received so many love letters, that they were several drawers worth.
Jake noticed that President Jinn felt a little off today since he kept zoning out during the meeting, so he inched closer and whispered into Shayne's ear as he said, "Hey President Jinn, do you want me to make you some tea?"
Shayne raised his brows a little as he tapped his pen on the table and said, "No, let's continue."
Not long after Shayne went out from the meeting room after the morning meeting, Jake came over and reported to him.
"President Jinn, a woman called Miss Cara Jacob is currently waiting in the lobby by the receptionist area and she wants to meet you. She said that there are some very important things to tell you."
'Cara Jacob?'
Shayne frowned and said, "Tell her that I'm currently not in the office."
Jake continued, "President Jinn, Miss Cara also mentioned that she wanted to tell you some things that you don't know about Miss Joy."
Shayne tapped his pen on his desk and slightly raised his brows as he thought to himself, 'Things that I don't know about Yanny?'
'Judging from the sound of things, it seems she'll only be the bearer of bad news then?'
It seemed that some people lacked the ability to read a person's emotions. Cara was one of those people.
She actually thought that Shayne was seriously smiling at her when he chuckled earlier.
Cara coquettishly toyed with her hair by her ear and said, "I'm glad that you, President Jinn is able to understand that I meant well. I was even so worried that you might misunderstand me on my way here earlier."
Shayne called Jake over with the intercom.
Cara thought Shayne actually believed everything she had said to him, so she decided to push things further as she said "President Jinn, my sister is a horrible person and her personal life is a complete mess. When she was dating Samuel for half a year back then, who knows if they'd actually… well… did it."
Cara was even pretending to lower her head bashfully while she blushed when she mentioned that.
Shayne was annoyed at what he saw as he simply commented with a neutral tone, "Miss Jacob, you sure are an innocent young lady."
Cara said while she smiled, "My parents were very strict to me when I was growing up, so I dared not act out of line."
"Really now?" Shayne questioned her.
"Of course."
However, Shayne cracked a very apologetic smile at her as he said, "But I'm not a good man either. We're both very different people, Miss Jacob."
Before Cara could react, Jake had already entered the room and gestured at Cara to leave.
Jake told Cara in a very formal tone, "Miss Jacob, President Jinn has an international meeting in ten minutes. If there's nothing else, Miss Jacob, I'll send you off downstairs."
Cara continued standing there and was unwilling to leave. However, it seemed that Shayne did not want her to stay, so she had no choice but to leave.
"Well then, President Jinn. I'll visit you again next time. Remember to eat your breakfast now, President Jinn."
After Jake had sent Cara off, Shayne took a glance at the plastic container and told Jake when he returned, "Throw it away."
"Alright, I'll get to it right away."
When Jake took the container and was almost at the door, Shayne called out to him again, "Oh that's right, I need you to help me look someone up."
'Samuel Lane.'
The man Yanny eloped with when she was sixteen.
He was quite interested to see just how good her taste in men was. He wondered if her taste was unimaginably poor.
That was because he did not believe there could be other men out there that were better than him.
