Once a Doormat Now Untouchable (Caleb and Sydney) novel Chapter 741

After finishing her work at the clinic, Sydney went to Seraph Villa as usual to give Florence her treatment.

Once the needles were out, she helped Florence sit up slowly on the acupuncture table and asked, "How are you feeling today?"

"Much better. This leg feels noticeably stronger than before." Florence moved her right leg slightly, a rare smile of ease on her face. "The results have been much better since you adjusted the prescription last time."

Sydney smiled as she packed away the acupuncture tools. "Then I'll make a small adjustment to the prescription based on how you're doing today. Just have someone pick up the medicine from Lumosa Clinic."

"Sure, whatever you say." Florence put on her shoes and, with Sydney's help, settled into her wheelchair.

The two of them left the room together.

Downstairs in the living room, Diana was reviewing some documents. She looked up at the sound and, seeing Sydney wheel Florence out, set down her pen and stood.

"All done with the needles?" she asked.

Sydney nodded, handed the wheelchair over to a maid who had come forward, and sat down on the sofa.

Florence had the housekeeper pour Sydney a cup of water, her gaze settling on Sydney's growing belly with undisguised concern.

"Are you tired? You're on your feet the whole time while doing the treatments. Have your legs been swelling at all?"

"I'm not tired. I'm in great shape these days." Sydney took the cup, sipped from it, and shook her head with a smile. "Besides, the acupuncture doesn't take long. It's much easier than seeing patients all day."

"That's good." Florence let out a relieved breath but couldn't help continuing to fuss. "You need to put yourself first. If anything feels off, say so right away. Don't just push through it. Julian's grandmother called a while back too. She said you're still worrying too much and that you should set the institute's affairs aside for now."

Sydney laughed helplessly. "I already told her. All I do now is talk. Marc handles the actual work."

"She's just worried about you."

Diana, listening from the side, wore a rare hint of a smile. "You can explain it to her yourself when you go back."
