No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 978

Cedric stared at Noelle's face. He was genuinely surprised that she would ask him such a question.

Noelle awkwardly turned her head away. "Don't get the wrong idea. I'm just asking."

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly. He subconsciously hid his injured arm and looked at her from the side. "I'm fine."

When she heard him say that he was fine, she breathed a sigh of relief and did not look up at him again.

Jeremy was dragging the man in gray along with the group. He had heard their conversation and could not help but let out a snort, even though it was not clear who it was directed at.

The group soon arrived at the internet cafe. But when the man logged into the online game, they discovered that his online friend never showed up and had stopped responding to any messages.

Noelle took a look at the game account and saw that it was just a newly created low-level alt account. She frowned and said, "I have a bad feeling about this. He's probably not going to log in ever again."

Given the commotion at the spa center just now, even an idiot would realize that something had gone wrong. There was no way the contact would still be dumb enough to log in and reveal the address.

Cedric spoke up. "Look at the bright side of things. At least we've got the USB drive in our hands now."

Noelle nodded. "You're right. That's something, at least."

Jeremy snorted and said, "We can also deduce that whatever is on the USB drive must be extremely important. Looks like Mr. Q didn't lie to us after all."

Noelle looked at the two men and said, "Alright, let's go."

Jeremy patted on the shoulder of the man in gray. "What about this guy?"

Noelle noticed that the man was rather young, so she pulled out another envelope that was much thinner.

She handed the money over to the man and said, "If that person contacts you again, just call this number and let me know."
