Noelle walked in, drawing the attention of many around her. She noticed a few unfamiliar faces, likely the new recruits who had joined the team recently.
Raymond's eyes lit up when he saw her and asked, "Didn't expect to see you here today. What brings you here?"
Noelle felt a bit self-conscious but managed a small smile. "Just dropping in to check on things. After all, I'm still the captain, even if you're doing a better job at it. How's everyone been doing in training lately?"
Raymond replied, "Pretty good. Since our last tournament win, a few new members have joined us, and the team has become even stronger."
Noelle nodded. "Don't hold back on expenses. Make sure everyone on the main roster gets their full monthly benefits. They're putting in a lot of hours in the competition, so we need to support them."
Raymond turned to the team, raising his voice. "Hey, you all heard Noelle! She's got your back, and she's confident in you all!"
The room erupted in cheers. Later, Noelle sat down to join the training. They took turns challenging her to Player Kill matches, but none of them managed to beat her in the end.
Noelle was in a visibly good mood. She said, "You guys have improved a lot. I'm sure we'll go even further as a team."
One of the players commented. "Just as expected of Noelle—she's unbeatable as always."
...
After the session, Noelle headed back to her office.
As Raymond followed her in, she turned to him and asked, "Have you considered taking over as captain? I'm going to be a bit tied up soon and might not have the time to keep up with everything here."
Raymond asked, "Is it because of your family situation?"
The media had already picked up on the drama surrounding her family and the Merlocks, though the story had been quietly suppressed later.
She nodded and said, "Yeah. You're doing a great job, and if you take on the captain role, you'll have a better shot at making it to the national team."
