Cedric knew exactly what was going on—especially since he had already guessed what would happen before he left.
He smiled. "Good. It'll help them develop their relationship."
"But what if Mia doesn't want it?" Noelle asked.
Cedric chuckled. "You didn't want it either a moment ago."
Noelle immediately covered Cedric's mouth. "Stop talking."
Cedric kissed the back of her hand and stood up. "I'm heading over."
He still went to the men's locker room, just in case Mia came back soon.
Meanwhile, just as Cedric was getting ready to shower, Eugene walked in. The two men met eyes but didn't exchange any words.
Eugene broke the silence. "Delete the security footage later."
Cedric replied, "Go ask the owner to delete it yourself. It's a public place. Don't forget the consequences."
Eugene fell silent.
…
After Noelle finished fixing her clothes, she washed her face to cool herself down.
As she walked out of the locker room, she ran into Mia returning. The two girls locked eyes. Both of their faces flushed red but neither said anything.
Noelle hesitated before saying, "I'll head out first."
Mia nodded quickly. "Okay. Go ahead."
Neither said more and left in silence.
Once outside, Noelle covered her face, determined never to speak carelessly again.
Next time, she would think twice. Who would have thought these men had such fragile egos?
By the time Noelle reached the boxing area, Tilly had arrived.
Tilly handed her a folder. "Here's all the documentation from the lawyers. I organized everything. With the best attorney on our side, the Merlock family has no chance of winning."
Noelle nodded.
Their chances were indeed much higher with an ace lawyer.
Tilly added, "There's something else I need to tell you. Wasn't Xenia supposed to be resting to protect the baby? Well, Frank had someone conduct a DNA test. The results are in his hands now."
"Any reaction from the Liddell family?" Noelle asked.
