Noelle stared at Sean and continued, "You're definitely hiding something from us."
"It's up to you if you want to believe me or not. There's nothing I can do about it if you don't trust me," Sean replied.
She was not angered by his reply whatsoever. She realized that there was definitely something shady going on between Sean and the Merlock family.
Cedric's gaze turned sharp as he stared at Sean. "Where did you hide the evidence?"
"I'll talk only at the police station. I will not be telling you anything here," Sean replied.
Noelle grew even more suspicious of Sean. She realized that he was definitely still hiding something from her.
She explained, "If you don't tell me the truth, then I'll have no choice but to work with the Merlock family instead. In that case, you'll be labeled a murderer and end up on death row. Your secrets will then follow you to the grave."
Sean grew visibly anxious after hearing that.
Noelle then stepped forward and pressed him further. "Now speak!"
She had already expected such a scenario. The reason Sean was willing to turn himself in to the police was, according to him, because the accident was orchestrated by the Merlocks, and he never intended to kill her parents.
Legally speaking, Sean would not be given the death penalty and would only be given a short prison sentence. It was clear that that was Sean's plan.
But if Noelle were to take on the Merlock family's side, Sean would be taking the fall for the entire accident and instead be sentenced to death. Sean definitely did not want to die. If he died, all of his plans and secrets would have been for nothing.
Moreover, a gambling addict like him would never give up on his life so easily. Sure enough, he was not willing to give up just yet.
"Your parents will never be able to rest in peace if you choose to work with the Merlocks. They were the ones who bribed me and ordered me to kill your parents, after all."
Noelle replied, "But the Merlocks said that they just wanted to hurt my parents a little in order to stop them from attending the auction and that you were the one who killed them."
