Xenia herself was not confident about whether or not the baby was Wyatt's, either. But at that moment, she insisted that the child belonged to Wyatt in order to save her own life.
She clutched her stomach and explained, "It's still far from three months, so a paternity test isn't possible right now."
Any amount of delay would help. Things might not go her way if they were to go for a checkup at the hospital.
Noelle had a pretty good guess that Xenia herself had no idea who the father was, judging by how evasive Xenia had become. Odds were that the baby did not belong to the Liddell family.
Wyatt had just mentioned that he was not in good health and had barely enough viable sperm, even for IVF.
Given the case, Xenia could not possibly have conceived his baby naturally. Unfortunately, Wyatt did not consider all of the details because of how desperate he was for a child.
Noelle spoke up with a mocking smile. "We'll need to do a checkup at the hospital to tell if you've been pregnant for at least three months or not. If the timeline doesn't match up, it would easily prove that the child isn't Wyatt's. There's no need for a paternity test by then."
Xenia began to panic. She could not imagine having her lies exposed from a checkup at the hospital. She herself had no idea who the father even was.
Suddenly, Wyatt spoke up. "Let's go to the hospital for a checkup."
Even Wyatt had begun doubting her. Xenia had lied to him multiple times, after all. She had also cheated on him with other men.
Xenia did not want to go to the hospital. She started crying and said, "Wyatt, so you don't even trust me anymore? Then I might as well just end it all."
Frank stepped forward to hold Wyatt back before staring down at Xenia. "If you really want to die, then we don't have to bother going to the hospital any longer. We'll just call the cops and send you to the police station."
Xenia immediately fell silent. She did not dare to say anything more.
