Noelle grew nervous. Just as she expected, Xenia had finally made a move.
Cedric hummed. "Don't worry. I'll personally keep an eye on this from my end. We'll definitely catch that driver."
"Okay, I'll wait for your update." After hanging up, Noelle took a deep breath. So, it was finally happening.
She had thought it would happen later, especially since Donovan had planned to transfer the money after the wedding. But maybe what she did earlier today provoked him, and he transferred the money earlier either out of spite or to prove how much he trusted Xenia.
That actually worked out in her favor.
The guests had begun arriving in the afternoon. Xenia wore a simple white dress. After all, she still hadn't managed to get her hands on that limited-edition designer wedding gown, so she didn't want to show off and risk being laughed at.
Anyway, the money had already been transferred, just like her father said, and she would soon be able to break free from the Liddells. Just the thought of that lifted her mood.
Noelle came downstairs in a plain outfit and saw Xenia bringing in the two Merlock sisters with a bright grin. Samantha looked around in distaste. "This place is so small."
It was so tacky to have a wedding at home.
Laura gently held her sister's hand, then smiled at Xenia. "My mother couldn't come today due to some last-minute matters, so we came in her place. We hope we can speak with the president of PZ Group later."
In truth, Ruth thought it would be beneath her to show up alone since Emma refused to come, so she didn't attend. And honestly, the Liddells weren't worthy of Ruth's time.
Xenia's smile faltered. Ruth didn't come again? That was clearly her looking down on them.
The Merlocks were in need of money and had approached the Liddells for business. Yet they still acted so high and mighty. Even so, Xenia didn't say anything, though her expression turned colder.
Samantha sneered again. "Seriously, this place is just too small."
"If you think this place is too small, you're welcome to leave." Noelle appeared dressed entirely in black with a single white flower by her ear.
