Noelle knew that everything that had happened that day was all thanks to Cedric.

The mayor walked over from the side and said, "Mr. Greene, I will personally reinvestigate the issues surrounding this sample exchange and give you a proper explanation."

Cedric replied, "I don't need an explanation. You should be giving it to Maple Enterprise instead. If word gets out that they were involved in shady dealings, the city will have a hard time attracting investments in the future."

"You're right, Mr. Greene. We'll issue an appropriate punishment."

The mayor then turned around to look at the manager and continued, "Bring everyone involved back for questioning. Move!"

The manager's face instantly turned pale.

Noelle looked at the employees of Maple Enterprise and said, "Let's call it a day. We'll decide on what to do when the investigation results are out."

Ryan glanced cautiously at Cedric. He never would have thought that the man before him was from the legendary Greene family. With someone like Cedric around, Maple Enterprise could not possibly be in trouble.

Cedric then explained, "I will give everyone a proper explanation about what happened today."

Ryan nodded repeatedly. "Then we'll take our leave now."

Noelle watched her colleagues pack up and leave before speaking up. "We would've all been kicked out of this place if it weren't for you showing up in time. Mrs. Cantrell even went so far as to move Alfred away."

The incident would not have happened at all had Alfred been around that day.

Cedric explained, "Mrs. Cantrell has lost a lot of money on her investments recently, so she's desperate for this project to succeed and will do anything to make sure it does. She wouldn't have risked offending Alfred if this were before."

"It's no wonder Mrs. Cantrell was in such a rush to push for Mia and Donovan to get married. So this was her ulterior motive all along!" Noelle replied.

She then looked at Cedric and continued, "Will what you have done today make you an enemy of Mrs. Cantrell?"

"Do you think Mrs. Cantrell doesn't already know that I co-founded the company with Alfred?" he replied.

"Then why did she send Alfred away? Did she not consider the possibility that you'd show up instead?"

Noelle found the situation rather odd. She could tell that Salena was already aware of her past with Cedric during the Cantrell family's banquet.

Cedric looked at her cautiously and explained, "That's because Mrs. Cantrell heard about you visiting my grandma at the hospital. She assumed that you and I had fallen out, and thus, she gambled that I wouldn't step in to help you.
