Emma was still holding Noelle's hand as she spoke excitedly. "Oh, Noelle, go wash your face and change your clothes. I'll take you shopping! I heard some new collections just dropped—perfect for young women like you."
Her enthusiasm was impossible to hide. She was eager to experience what it was like to dress up a daughter.
After all, when she used to dress up Magnus as a child, one moment, he would be an adorable little girl, and the next, he would be rolling in the mud like a wild rascal. It had never given her the satisfaction she craved.
Noelle hesitated for a moment, trying to come up with an excuse to decline. On the side, Cedric glanced at the time and said, "She needs to head back to school. The dorms have a curfew."
"Oh, right, I forgot about that. Then we'll go another time," Emma said, visibly disappointed.
Noelle could only nod. Ever since she heard Emma clarify that Cedric and Laura were never engaged, her mind had been in turmoil.
The main reason she had been so upset with Cedric and broken up with him was because of Laura. But now she found out Laura had been lying.
At that moment, Cedric took Noelle's wrist and said, "I'll take her back."
Emma quickly added, "Make sure she takes all the things I bought for her."
"I'll get her what she needs," Cedric replied firmly.
Noelle did not even get a chance to respond before Cedric led her away. Once they left the private room, Noelle suddenly stopped, looking uneasy. "I haven't changed my clothes yet."
"I'll have Tilly bring them to you," Cedric said, not wanting her to stay with Emma any longer, worried she might let something slip.
