No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 482

In the end, Donovan nodded. "That's right. I asked again, and the script was indeed written solely by Noelle. I was mistaken."

Xenia's gaze darkened. She hadn't expected Donovan to not speak up for her. Doesn't that mean she made a fool of herself at the banquet?

Noelle looked at Xenia. "I know you've always wanted to achieve something, but forcefully attaching yourself to someone else's work won't help you. It'll only harm you. I'm saying this for your own good. You won't blame me for this, right?"

Her sugar-coated words nearly drove Xenia insane. Xenia's expression turned sour. "I need to use the restroom."

As Xenia left, Noelle finally let go of Donovan's arm. She had done it all just to irritate Xenia. After all, Donovan was the only one still standing by Xenia's side.

Noelle continued to play her role throughout the event, avoiding embarrassment, which lessened Donovan's resentment toward her.

Donovan lowered his voice. "See? Isn't this much better? You and Xenia should make peace and get along from now on."

Noelle smirked. "Sure. But you need to be fair and return all my belongings to me. Only then can I do as you say."

"Fine. I'll keep everything Mom and Dad left you safe and give them back to you later. How else would I know if you truly want to come back to the family?"

Donovan was still wary. He suspected Noelle had returned only for the inheritance. What if she changed her mind if he handed everything over too soon?

Noelle shrugged, "Alright. But Xenia can't get her hands on anything, including the charity foundation."

"Sure." Donovan agreed without hesitation. He could always compensate Xenia in other ways later.

Noelle glanced down at her champagne glass. Xenia would be livid once she found out about this. And this was only the beginning.

A man as self-important as Donovan always prioritized the bigger picture. In the past, she had been the one suffering. Now, it was Xenia's turn.

Fortunes would always change. Noelle was curious to see how long Xenia could last. More importantly, she wanted to see Donovan's reaction when he discovered that Xenia's father was still alive and was responsible for the accident that took their parents' lives.

So, this was the power of blood ties.

Noelle's eyes lit up at the mention of a charity auction. "Really? So you did put in a lot of effort. In that case, you can continue organizing the event."

She knew Xenia would tamper with the funds. Donovan looked at Noelle in surprise. "You're okay with that?"

He thought Noelle would oppose it. And he relaxed now that she had agreed.

Noelle turned to Xenia with a smirk. "Make sure you don't mess it up. Do a good job, and I'll even pay you a salary."

Xenia was furious. Noelle was treating her like an employee! The auction funds were supposed to be hers. Why should she settle for a mere salary?

Noelle's return had thrown her entire plan into shambles. She had to contact her father and eliminate her!
