Donovan was arrogant. "The contract is signed and in effect. And you'll have to pay Xenia a hefty compensation if you want to terminate it now."
Noelle chuckled. Donovan always had a knack for making people sick with disgust. He wasted no time in setting things up for Xenia. How efficient of him.
Blake snorted. "And? The company makes its own decisions, and Xenia's acting is an embarrassment."
Xenia wouldn't get any valuable resources as long as Donovan wasn't in charge.
Noelle smirked at her. "As the boss, I advise you to work on your acting skills and make the company some money.
"Wait, never mind. Your acting has always been excellent. You were born for this."
Xenia's face twisted in rage. She always envisioned herself as the company's owner. But Noelle had snatched it away from her. Xenia couldn't accept this.
Blake sneered. "Her acting is trash. The only role she's ever nailed is playing the victim in the Liddell family. She's nothing outside of that."
Tears welled in Xenia's eyes. She felt humiliated and ran out of the lounge.
Donovan glared at Noelle. "You're so capable and actually got them to side with you."
"This isn't about my capabilities. I was never in the wrong. They feel guilty; that's why they're standing with me." But Noelle wasn't sure how long that guilt would last.
However, all she needed to do was back Xenia into a corner and force the people behind her to reveal themselves.
Donovan sneered. "Noelle, don't think you've won just yet."
Noelle noticed Xenia lurking near the doorway out of the corner of her eye. She hadn't left.
Xenia always fantasized about kicking Noelle out of the Liddell family and taking her place, including her father's past position, but Noelle wasn't about to let them have their way.
She smirked. "Alright, I accept your apologies."
If she pretended to rejoin the Liddell family, Xenia and the people backing her would start their next move.
Xenia couldn't help but step out from behind the door and cast Donovan a pitiful look. "Donovan, are you really letting Noelle back in the family?"
Why was Noelle coming back when she was supposed to be gone?
