No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 428

The Liddell family had just arrived, stepping out of the car. Blake sat in a wheelchair, his face wrapped in bandages, looking seriously injured.

The air was tense. Blake started questioning Noelle. "Noelle, I'm your brother! You said you wanted to act, so I pulled some strings to get you a role.

"I even helped you rehearse when you were struggling. And this is how you repay me? By stabbing me in the back?" Blake played the victim convincingly.

Noelle remained calm. "Drop the act. This isn't a film set. No one's here for your performance."

Cedric mocked, "Blake, do you mean beating Noelle up when you say rehearsal?"

Blake looked guilty. "That was an accident. Noelle said she could handle pain."

Xenia stepped in. "But Blake was the one who was hurt the most! Noelle, how could you twist the truth in your live stream?"

Cedric shot Xenia a look. "Blake got hurt while running away when he heard the police coming. Why would he run if he had nothing to hide?"

Xenia faltered. "Because he's a public figure! He can't afford any scandal since it would ruin his reputation."

Noelle scoffed. "You provoked Blake, making him believe I had dirt on him, which led him to attack me. Did you really think you'd walk away from this unscathed?"

Xenia immediately lowered her head in feigned innocence. "I never did anything like that."

Blake glanced at her. Noelle was right. Xenia had let him hear a recorded clip, making him think Noelle was collecting evidence against him. If not for that, he wouldn't have lost control and fallen into her trap.

Noticing Blake's gaze, Xenia shrank back, not daring to speak. Still, she was certain that Blake wouldn't expose her.

Then, Blake's expression turned ugly when he saw Liam beside Noelle. "Noelle, you've got some nerve. You even convinced Liam to take your case."

Xenia interrupted, "Blake, let's go inside. We shouldn't waste any more time."

Cedric glared at her. "Why are you in such a rush to change the subject? Are you involved in what happened back then, too?"

"Nonsense! I had nothing to do with it!" Xenia paled with fear. She would be done if Blake ever found out the truth.

Blake spoke up. "That's right. Xenia was the one who saved me back then. But Noelle? She left me in a dark alley and even pointed the gangsters in my direction! Am I wrong?"

A sudden realization flashed in Noelle's eyes. She stared intently at Xenia. "So that's what you told Blake?"

It was as expected.
