No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 416

Noelle's expression froze up for a moment as she stared at Cedric in a daze. Her gaze flickered as she lowered her head and whispered, "I'm fine, aren't I?"

"What if you weren't? Didn't I tell you to give me a call if something happened? It doesn't matter what it is. I can help you!" Cedric grew angrier the more he spoke.

He could not forget about the sound of Noelle's desperate cry for help from the live stream. At that moment, he almost felt like killing someone. All of that, only to realize that she had been acting all along.

Noelle glanced down at the injury on her knee and whispered, "I know we're friends, but I can't always trouble you with everything."

Maple Enterprise also sponsored the esports team back then.

She felt that she could not keep relying on Cedric. She wanted to handle her own issues with the Liddells. She did not want to involve the people around her in it, especially Blake, whose personality might make him start biting people like a mad dog if provoked enough.

Cedric's car came to a halt at a red light. He then turned his head slightly, revealing his darkened expression. "So I'm just a friend to you?"

Noelle clenched her pants and took a while to reply. "What else would we be?"

He rested one hand on the steering wheel and replied, "If you don't know how to protect yourself, then I'll protect you instead. Stay by my side, and no one will ever dare to bully you again."

Her heart began beating like a drum as she felt that her face had gotten hotter.

Just as she was about to say something, a car horn blared from behind. She then quickly said, "The light's green."

Cedric stepped on the gas once more, and the inside of the car remained silent throughout.

Noelle kept her eyes on the road ahead, but her mind had become a complete mess.

She wondered what Cedric had meant by his words just now, as well as wondering if she was just overthinking things again.

Their car soon came to a halt outside a hospital.

Noelle took a look and said, "Isn't this the private hospital that you went to the last time you were injured?"

She had heard that this hospital was where the wealthy folks preferred treatment.

Cedric's expression was as cold as ever. "Get out."

Noelle then pulled out her phone and saw that she had received messages from Grace and Rachel. Just as she was about to type her reply, the room's door was pushed open.

Three people entered the room, all of them dressed in sharp, luxurious suits.

The woman leading the group was covered from head to toe in designer brands. She approached Noelle and handed her a business card. "Hello, Ms. Liddell. I'm Tilly Lozano, the manager of TG Public Relations."

Noelle did not accept the card. "What's a Public Relations company looking for me for?"

Tilly replied, "Have you not heard of us, Ms. Liddell? We're the Greene Corporation's top PR team. There's no one that we can't clean up their past.

"What will it take for you to agree to release a statement saying that the live stream earlier was just a staged performance?"

Noelle snorted and replied, "Nothing will make me agree to your terms. I want Blake's life to be utterly ruined!"

Tilly explained, "We're only approaching you to give you an opportunity to make things right. You may refuse us now, but the only one who will end up suffering will just be you yourself."

Just as the words fell, the hospital ward's door was kicked open with a loud bang. Cedric stood at the entrance of the room while holding a lunchbox, his expression as cold as ice.
