No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 413

Noelle glared at Blake, and the look they exchanged was nothing short of hostile.

Blake sneered. "You don't even remember, but I've never been able to forget."

"Because I never did anything wrong, and I have nothing to feel guilty about!" Noelle was certain she'd never done anything to betray him. When she was younger, she'd always been well-behaved and never dared defy her brothers. How could she possibly have stabbed him in the back?

Upon hearing that, Xenia panicked. She couldn't let Blake say it, given the consequences she'd face if he did. She stepped forward to grab Blake's arm.

"This isn't the time to talk about that, Blake. We need to find a way to fix this mess. The video has gone viral all over the internet!"

Blake couldn't afford to fall, at least not until she successfully broke into the entertainment industry. He glanced at her and nodded. "You're right."

Crisis management was their utmost priority right now. He immediately called his manager and instructed. "Get the best PR team. Fix this immediately."

The nearly frantic manager responded, "I've hired the top crisis management firm from Greene Corporation. They're on their way to the scene, and they'll take care of it soon."

"There's nothing to worry about then. We'll just tell everyone that Noelle and I were rehearsing a scene, and the livestream is just a surprise teaser for the audience."

With that, Blake turned his cold gaze to Noelle. "Did you think your little trick would work? Dream on."

Xenia's eyes lit up. "Yes! Just say it was a rehearsal. Noelle is just a rookie, and as his older brother, it makes complete sense that you were training her."

That explanation would make sense.

After hanging up the call, Blake glared at Noelle with unmasked malice. "Now that the live stream is over, how do you think I should repay you for that little surprise?"

Xenia eagerly chimed in, "Why not teach her a lesson? But don't go too far; we don't want the media getting suspicious."

She worried Blake might lose control if he got too mad. If Noelle ended up seriously injured, they could never explain it as just a rehearsal. But Blake shoved her aside as his entire being radiated hostility.

Blake realized things had spiraled out of control. He should've left earlier, but now the police had him cornered. He grabbed Xenia's hand. "Go stall them. You know what to say, right?"

"I do. Get out of here first, Blake." Xenia wanted nothing more than to protect him.

With the help of his men, Blake struggled to his feet and limped toward an exit. Before leaving, he turned to glare at Noelle. "This isn't over. I won't go easy on you next time."

Noelle sneered. "Right back at you."

After watching him leave, she finally let herself slump to the floor. Damn, that hurt. Watching Blake trying to escape through the back exit, she turned toward the incoming officers. "He's there! He's trying to run!"

Blake's men immediately attempted a different escape route, only to fall straight into an abandoned sewer pit. As a loud scream tore through the night, Noelle smirked. The pain in her body lifted almost instantly.

Poetic justice, huh? Suddenly, the sound of helicopter blades whirring overhead filled the air.
