No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 410

The secretary soon readied the contract. Noelle glanced at it and signed without hesitation. Then, she handed it over and demanded, "What are the clues?"

Donovan's expression was stiff. "I thought you were cold-hearted and didn't care about finding who escaped back then."

Noelle frowned. "Don't waste my time."

"It took me years to find even the smallest clue. It's related to the Merlocks."

"The Merlocks? Samantha's family?"

Donovan nodded. "That's right."

Noelle thought about how the Merlocks had shielded Samantha. That meant the driver back then was most likely someone from the Merlock family, and they had a scapegoat to take the fall instead.

"Even if you know, you won't be able to investigate, Noelle. You're too weak on your own."

Noelle jeered. "If I'm that weak, why are you still demanding that I work with you?"

She watched as Donovan's expression instantly darkened. Her mood improved as she turned and left the company.

She hadn't expected the car accident to be connected to the Merlocks. Right now, she had to figure out how to investigate who from the Merlocks had been in Aldoria back then.

After returning to the training base, the production crew was still shooting on-site, but the number of onlookers had decreased significantly.

"You're late again, Noelle."

Blake sat under a sunshade and watched her calmly. "Though you're my sister, it's not great for you to keep everyone waiting all the time, right?"

Standing aside, Xenia was enjoying the spectacle. "That's right. You're the only one who hasn't filmed your scenes."

"I guess so. Blake cares too much about his reputation, and there's no way he'll drag this out forever."

"But from the way he looked, I doubt he'll give up easily. You have to figure something out to deal with him soon, Noelle. You shouldn't make him threaten you like that."

Noelle nodded. "I've gathered dirt on him over the past few days. Once I expose it, he'll be utterly humiliated and lose his chance at this year's Best Actor Award."

After she spoke, she noticed a shadow outside the slightly ajar door. She looked over and called out, "Who's there?"

No one answered, so Grace walked to the door and checked. "No one's here."

Around the corner, Xenie hid and glanced at the recording on her phone with a triumphant smile. If Blake heard this, he'd definitely teach Noelle a lesson.

"Noelle, you brought this on yourself," Xenia muttered inwardly.
