No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 408

Blake's expression flickered with a trace of unnatural awkwardness. "I must've remembered wrong, I guess. I've been too busy with work lately."

"If you can't even remember, stop pretending to be a good brother. There are no cameras here," Noelle snapped.

Blake's expression darkened further.

Xenia stepped in to smooth things over. "That's just how Noelle talks. Don't take it too seriously."

Seizing the opportunity to retreat, Blake turned around and left the base.

Grace huffed in frustration. "He shouldn't aggressively force you into doing that! That nice-guy act of his is all fake. I wish we could expose his true colors!"

"He's a celebrity. No one will believe a word you say without solid proof." Plus, Blake had always had the persona of a caring big brother. Simply speaking out wouldn't be enough to convince his fans.

Noelle turned to the team. "Alright, let's start training. You all will take turns going against me. I want to see how much you've improved."

They trained together until curfew before calling it a night. After returning to the dorm, Noelle took a shower. When she came out, she noticed a package on her desk.

The packaging was familiar. After opening it, she found medicated patches inside. She snapped a picture and sent it to Cedric.

"Received it. Thanks."

Cedric stared at her message and was momentarily unsure how to respond. Her attitude made him uncertain about where he stood.

Alfred glanced at his phone. "If Nelly responded, it means she's still being rational. She knows you weren't the one driving the car, so you have nothing to do with the accident directly."

"But she doesn't seem to know the full truth either." Cedric hesitated while staring at the chat window.

Alfred continued, "You have a point. Since it was your stepmom who handled the accident back then, you could ask her. Your identity might've never been revealed to Noelle."

Cedric nodded. That made sense since he had to return home anyway. Magnus had to be dealt with for trying to sell him out.

Meanwhile, Noelle finished drying her hair and noticed Cedric hadn't replied. Instead, she received several texts from the black market.

After her classes in the morning, Noelle headed straight to Liddell Corporation. With her backpack slung over one shoulder, she walked into the building and approached the receptionist. "I'm here to meet Mr. Liddell."

"Do you have an appointment?"

The receptionist looked up and froze once she saw Noelle's face. "Are you… Noelle Liddell?"

Noelle nodded and didn't bother denying it. Then, the receptionist led her upstairs to the president's office.

Donovan looked up when she entered and was visibly surprised. "What are you doing here?"

Noelle got straight to the point. "I want information on the person who fled that night."

"So you've made your choice and decided to drop the lawsuit, huh? Guess you still have some sense. You should've done this sooner; I guess Mom and Dad didn't raise you for nothing."

Donovan's mood improved. Looking down at her from his desk, he said, "But if you want those clues, you have to beg for them."
