"Why do you suddenly ask? Did you remember something?" Frank replied.
"No, but Blake told me there's more to the car accident back then. Is it true?"
There was a heavy silence after Noelle's question.
Finally, Frank said, "This isn't something that can be explained over the phone. Come to the hospital in a bit."
"Can't we just talk over the phone?" Noelle refused to visit the hospital.
Frank responded with an almost pleading tone, "This is too important, so we have to talk face to face. Do you hate seeing me that much?" His words trailed off with a cough.
Noelle heard him coughing violently along with the voices of doctors and nurses.
"You can't delay your condition any longer, Mr. Liddell. Please eat your meals."
"If this continues, we might have to conduct gastrectomy."
Noelle heard those words and felt a mix of emotions. He seemed to be in worse condition than in her past life.
Soon, James took over the call. "Mr. Liddell is about to start his treatment, Ms. Liddell. Could you come over?"
Noelle was silent for a long time before replying, "I'll see if I can." With that, she hung up the phone.
She checked her phone and noticed articles about Xenia's slap. The official statement clarified it as a rehearsal scene.
Feeling frustrated, she left the base through the side gate and went straight to the gym.
After changing into her workout clothes, she approached the boxing ring and saw a familiar figure. She called out in surprise, "What brings you here today?"
Cedric was dressed in gray athletic wear, looking youthful and vibrant.
"Just checking to see if you've been slacking off," he replied.
His gaze was warm as he extended a hand toward her. "Come on up."
Noelle looked up at him, and her restless mood instantly calmed. She took his hand and climbed into the boxing ring.
Cedric watched her walk away and instinctively frowned. A man?
When she returned fully dressed, Cedric was waiting outside. "Men sure are quick at getting ready," she commented.
"Where are you going? Let me take you there." His tone was calm and natural as if it were a casual offer to help.
Noelle didn't explain further. "Sure."
After they got into the car, Cedric couldn't resist asking. "Are you dating someone?"
Noelle could no longer hold back her laughter. "No, I'm going to the hospital."
Cedric's eyes narrowed sharply. "Visiting Frank?"
"I need to ask him something. Blake mentioned earlier that there was something more to the car accident back then, and there was someone else in the car. I want to know who it was."
Cedric suddenly slammed on the brakes.
