No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1382

After Eugene hung up the call, he turned to Mia and said, "I've sent Alfred the addresses, and they're heading there now. I'm sure they'll find Noelle soon.

"You did well coming here." He reached out and ruffled her hair.

"I was just taking a gamble and using Eason's life to squeeze something out of Ivy. She knows those people inside out, so at least we had a clue."

"Don't worry. I promise we'll get Noelle back soon."

Mia uneasily said, "I just can't shake it. No one can tell what's gonna happen now that she's under their control. They're from the scam center, and if they turn on her…"

"Yeah, but that was in their territory. Now they're holed up in ours, I'm guessing they might be too cowardly to make a move."

Still, that might not always be the case if time were to stretch out. Meanwhile, Cedric was the first to arrive after receiving the locations of the sites Mia had revealed. The addresses were scattered across three rundown areas in busy, low-rent neighborhoods.

When they arrived, they only found deserted rooms. One of the three sites had only been occupied, while the other two seemed empty.

When Cedric stepped into the back room, his gaze swept over the room with signs of recent use.

Alfred came over and reported what he'd found. "We've talked to the locals. The foreigners left about an hour ago and told people they were going on a trip."

"Did someone tip them off?"

"We moved the second we received the addresses, so that didn't seem likely."
