Noelle believed that the losses could be reduced if they could capture Ivy before the time was up, especially so for the ordinary folks.
Most of them had used up their liquid assets to invest in the project. If they were to lose that money, it would be quite a major blow to an average family.
It was not easy for regular folks to save up money after all.
Alfred looked at her and said, "I know you're worried, but all we can do is try our best. Catching Ivy alone won't solve our problem. Freezing the funds is what really matters."
"Didn't you say that everything's already been arranged overseas to freeze the funds?"
"That's right. Because PZ Group's scam is operating through international channels, we can also put a stop to its operation through a fast-track process. It's how we managed to freeze the scammed money right away."
Noelle nodded. "I understand. Let's just do our best."
"Oh, right, Noelle, you'd better be careful as well. Ivy might come for you if she gets desperate while we close in to make the arrest. There's a long-standing grudge between the two of you, and Xenia's her daughter, after all."
"Thanks for the reminder. I will be careful."
After leaving Alfred's office, Noelle sent a message to Mia immediately. "Mia, are you free? Wanna grab a coffee?"
Mia replied, "Yeah, sure! I missed you so much!"
She had been staying with the Cantrells for the past few days and had been attending banquets nonstop in order to maintain her family's relations. And thus, her face had been practically stuck in a permanent smile.
Mia put down her phone and immediately got ready to leave, but Ivy walked over and said, "Where are you going, Mia? We're going to play cards in the afternoon, remember?"
Mia replied, "My friend invited me to hang out. I've already turned her down several times by now."
Ivy smiled. "It's Noelle, right? She must be back from her vacation by now."
Mia gave Ivy an awkward smile and replied, "We're friends, after all."
Ivy replied, "I know. You don't have to be so nervous. Go ahead."
