Cedric replied calmly, "Grandma, things on the island aren't as simple as they seem. Carl still holds a grudge against the Greene family, and even if he agreed to help, he wouldn't hand over the improved antidote that easily."
Anastasia looked at Noelle, her heart aching. "This is really unfair to you. But the Liddells probably realize now how badly they were duped back then.
"They must feel guilty, right? They wouldn't dare give you a hard time again, would they?"
Emma chimed in, "If they dare make things difficult for you, don't you just put up with it."
Noelle nodded. "I won't."
Anastasia said, "In that case, let's have our New Year's dinner tomorrow night instead. It's better when the whole family is together."
After Noelle and Cedric returned to their bedroom, she turned to him and said, "Your family is wonderful. I really envy you."
"Don't say that. It just makes me feel guilty." Cedric wrapped his arms around her. "I'll make it up to you and build you a home that's full of warmth."
"How exactly are you going to do that?"
He playfully pinched her nose. "Maybe by having a couple of kids?"
Noelle's face reddened. "That would be me giving you a home."
"But I'd be contributing, too, wouldn't I?" His hand moved restlessly to her waist, and Noelle immediately pushed him away and ran to the bathroom.
Cedric watched Noelle's retreating figure with amusement. However, as he thought about recent events, his smile faded somewhat. He would deal with all those people who kept appearing in his and Noelle's lives to cause trouble.
The next day, Noelle returned to the Greene residence early. At dinnertime, Cedric picked up Magnus, who had just returned from an overseas business trip, and brought him home.
