Noelle walked over to Mia and replied, "Yeah, I came to see you. But how could you just let unrelated guests in here? Aren't you afraid of anything dangerous happening?"
Ivy smiled and replied, "Ms. Liddell, there's no need to be so sarcastic. I'm not someone like Mrs. Salena."
She then stepped in front of Mia and continued, "Mia, thank you for still being willing to trust me."
Mia replied, "Of course, I trust you, Mrs. Ivy. Back when Aunt Salena had me grounded at home, it was you who tricked her and helped me keep all my assets."
"It was nothing. We only became family after your father passed away, after all. I didn't have the right to do or say anything for your sake, but now that you've grown up and can tell right from wrong, I finally had the courage to come back and give you my help."
Ivy then looked up at Noelle and continued, "Ms. Liddell, I've always wanted to get along with you, but you seem to have a problem with me simply because of how I look. Even so, you shouldn't be trying to drive a wedge between me and Mia."
Noelle looked at Mia with a stern expression. "I'm only doing this for your sake."
Mia bit down on her lips, looking conflicted.
Seeing that, Ivy immediately added, "Mia, Ms. Liddell really is just worried about you, so please don't be angry with her."
Noelle shot Ivy a glare and then turned to Mia. "I have some bad news. Do you remember that Mrs. Salena invested your money in PZ Group?
"Word is, PZ Group's investment project is actually a scam. It's a Ponzi scheme."
Mia was visibly shocked. "A Ponzi scheme?!"
"Yeah, it's all over the internet now. Everyone's saying that PZ Group is just an empty shell of a company that was scamming people under the guise of investment.
"Their real goal was never about investing. It was just to steal other people's money."
Ivy immediately explained, "You shouldn't believe everything you read online. PZ Group is a well-known international company. They can't possibly be running a scam, right?"
Within her heart, she cursed out at Laura again and again for being a useless idiot who messed up her plan.
