Noelle looked at Donovan and chose not to take the document. Meanwhile, Donovan felt a little awkward and said, "This is your payout from the company. According to Mom and Dad's will, it belongs to you."
When she heard that, she was surprised, wondering when he had become so nice. Then, Frank approached them and said, "You deserve it, so take it."
She glanced at the document before taking it. Since it was a gift from her parents, it rightfully belonged to her.
"How's your friend now?" asked Carl as he joined the group.
"She's doing better." When Noelle talked about Mia, she was smiling happily.
After they finished their meal, Carl asked her, "Before I leave, can we have a chat?"
"Sure," she agreed and went to the room upstairs with him. Since it was winter, the outside was cold. However, the rooms were warm.
Upon entering the room, she asked, "What did you want to talk about?"
"I heard you told Donovan to watch out for PZ Group's investment scam. I'm glad you're still willing to warn us."
"I just didn't want Mom and Dad's belongings to be taken away," she answered nonchalantly.
"So, how did you know that PZ Group was a scam?"
She turned to him and said, "I never said they were scammers."
They looked at each other in the eyes, and she didn't know what he meant by that. Was he testing her? With that thought in mind, she asked, "What do you mean?"
"In the dream, you loved this family. No matter how badly we treated you, you were still nice to us. We were the ones who didn't believe you and were biased toward Xenia. In the end, your life took a bad turn, and you died alone after being sent to the mental hospital."
When Noelle heard that, she slowly clenched her fists. By bringing it up, Carl's intention was clear.
When she looked up at him again, there was disdain in her eyes. "So, I would have such a terrible consequence if I keep listening to you guys, huh?"
Carl gulped slightly and said, "However, you became a completely different person and went against our words. You even found out the truth about Mom and Dad's accident. It was the complete opposite of what happened in the dream."
